Razer Blade Advance 15 2019 battery swollen | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hello

I opened up my razer to upgrade the SSD and the case back practically flew off as I was undoing those last few screws.

The wrapper around the battery looks BADLY swollen.

Any advice? In EMEA electronic devices have a presumed 5 year lifespan even if warranty is less. Battery going bad like this after only a couple of years

Thanks

Chris

Edit: yes. The battery really is that thick and protruding out. I haven't lifted this at all.

Amazed actually that the thread on the screws didn't strip as I was undoing the last few. Pleased I was pressing near each screw on the case as I was undoing each one. (it didn't feel right as soon as I undid the first one and the case at that area popped up by 1 cm, so I was on alert to something not right)
P.s.what makes me really cross is that I had 2 year warranty cover extended until Mar 2021

in retrospect I realise that the increasingly bad trackpad "click" responsiveness that I had noticed starting Jan or Feb 2021 but that I was thinking was just me forgetting where the clickable area was. I have now learned trackpad getting troublesome is actually caused by this.

Wish I'd sent laptop back last year but with lockdown couldn't afford to be without
Just to addthe laptop not been used for gaming... Mostly Citrix connection into work.

I bought to help with advanced video editing using DaVinci resolve but did less of that than I thought.... so CPU and GPU won't have and therefore battery also not been unduly stressed
Hi crypticc! Sorry to hear about your laptop's battery concern. Please refrain from using the laptop for your safety. Send me a private message, including your laptop's serial number so I can kick-start a case. I'll be locking this thread now.
