so I've had this laptop for a few years now, I also have a desktop and originally used the laptop for school so eventually the laptop got put to the side. A friends desktop kicked the bucket and I let them barrow the laptop for a year. They kept good care of it no major issues when it was returned, I gave it a full reset and everything seemed to work perfectly. again the laptop has been set aside mostly but now I need it so I can work on projects when I'm away from my desktop. I plug my headphones into the jack and nothing happened. no detection, no swap from speakers to headphones nothing. I do a little setting searching and searching online and they say to go into sound setting and set it to "headphone" along with an image of the sound settings and it shows 4 options. when I get to my settings I only have the speakers as my option it doesn't even seem to register that the audio jack is an option. Anyone else with a similar problem and solution doesn't have this exact issue and there for are irrelevant to me. Any help is Wonderful!
TLDR: older laptop that hasn't been abused or used too much has audio jack that doesn't register or work please help.
