Razer Blade base qhd 2021 60hz only? Please help! | Razer Insider

Hey guys,

Just got my new Razer Blade Base QHD 2021 in the door, super excited! But for some reason, I can't change my screen hz, it's set at 60hz and doesn't have any other chooses from the dropdown in Synapse, neither in windows settings... I plan on primarily game on the laptop screen so to get the 165hz, would be very nice.

First I thought it was maybe the Nvidia Optimus setting the the GPU mode, but when I turn it to Dedicated GPU only, my screen goes black, after it restarts, and I can only get a picture if I connect the laptop to an external screen, is that supposed to happen?

Please help me, thanks in advance!
Yeah, same for me. When selecting dedicated GPu only you get a black screen and when using Optimus you cannot select higher than 60 Hz in either Windows or in games.

I read something about older nvidia drivers fixing the Dedicated GPU-issue but we shouldn't have to go back several versions ...

BTW - my Razer updated itself recenty and I installed the latest nvidia driver update today and still same issue.

I recently tested a MSi GE76 Raider (RTX3080) and had no issues on that computer to either set a higher refreshrate in Windows or games (300 Hz) or switching over to jsue use Dedicated GPu isntead of Optimus. So the issue seems to lie in Razers lap.

Same issue here with Razer Blade Base QHD 2021 with all drivers updated and clean reinstall of the whole system. What I have learned so far:

1) If you havent loaded the new NVIDIA game ready drivers in NVIDIA Geforce experience app, then you can go use the synapse app to switch to change the GPU mode from Optimus to the dGPU only setting. This will allow you to switch to the 165 hz setting

2) However, if you loaded GeForce experience app and downloaded the new game driver, it runs fine with Optimus but the only setting is 60hz. If you set it to the dGPU, it doesnt seem to work as it restarts into a black screen. The only way to get out of it that I can see is to reinstall windows.

Let me know if there is a better solution than not uploading the NVIDIA game ready drivers in the Geforce experience app.
I received my blade pro today, and I also have this issue. Your pro tip is awesome, and it worked for me, but I am a bit concerned - I only have a 144Hz display. Will driving it at 165Hz damage anything? I would love for the option to be native in Windows - having it say 'generic pnp display' with the only option as 60Hz feels a little scary.
