So recently, I’ve been using my razer blade 2022 17inch plugged into an external display with the charger left plugged in. Some of my game downloads take hours, so i leave it plugged in over night to finish downloading them. When i wake up i find that the charger LED is turned off once the laptop is set to enter sleep mode after X hours, and it won’t respond unless i unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in. It doesn’t seem to have any other issues except that odd bug as it stays on charging while using the device, but my other laptop doesn’t have this behavior so i want to make sure the charger isnt broken. I also once found that the laptop shut down completely without my input, plugged in like this.

Hi Zev_7,

I’m here to help! I understand that the charger LED turned off and the Razer Blade became unresponsive after sleep mode. It’s also concerning that your laptop shut down unexpectedly while plugged in. I appreciate your thoroughness in describing the situation. Let’s work together to find a solution. Are there any error messages before shutdown? Does the laptop work normally when not charging? What power settings are in use? Is there any recent changes to hardware or software? Please try the steps below to isolate the problem:

  1. Ensure secure connections and look for visible damage.
  2. Test a Different Outlet. Plug the charger into another wall outlet.
  3. Check Battery Health. Use system settings to check battery status.
  4. Make sure power management and graphics drivers are up to date.
  5. Check sleep mode and USB power settings in Power Options.
  6. Test without an external display. Disconnect the external display and see if the issue continues.

Please PM me your laptop serial number so I can verify its model and check for other workarrounds. Thanks!
