I have tried two different units now so this is not user error. In both cases the machines were new and in pristine condition (no OS modifications/apps.
Initially the keyboard lighting will remain on once the Synapse settings take affect (ie the app is loaded). However soon after, including resuming from sleep or not, the keyboard will shut off it's lighting in a couple of seconds. The keys are effectively invisible at this point.
1. This is clearly a bug as others have reported it.
2. For your product team... why do you not use sensors to trigger the lighting when the user is close?
3. Please confirm that this is a known issue and when it will be fixed. I cannot use the system with this as it is painful to find keys and I waste time trying to find any "safe" key to press to reenable lighting so I can orient to the keys. I often use the keyboard in a darkish room and keyboard lighting is a requirement for me (it's one of the main reasons I bought the Razer.
A $4500 laptop should not have simple bugs like this.
