No harms done mate! By the way, I've replied to your PM. I'll wait for your follow-up.

Hello everyone.
Do you know if with these new Nvidia drivers, 466.11 already fixed our black screen problem?
The truth is that I no longer want to change to a GPU decade, since it is very frustrating to see the black screen again and see that we still do not solve this big problem and as a result we do not enjoy our Razer Blade Pro 2020 4k 120 hz and others. thx

I was able to confirm that the issue is still happening on RTX 2080 NVIDIA driver version 466.11 when I assisted a user with Blade Pro 17 2019 yesterday. I am still working on his case and will coordinate with our devs as soon as I have the outcome of our isolation tests.
I'm confirming here that the latest Nvidia driver won't even get the laptop display going from windows startup. I've had to rollback two to three divers just to be able to get into windows on discreet GPU mode and be able to use a updated driver (black screeen from hibernate still) but at least I'm not using a year old driver.

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO GET FIXED ????

I have a 2020 Blade Pro with 2080 max and 4k screen. Having same issue with all drivers updated in dedicated GPU mode. I got this laptop from Razer one month ago
Anyone have any info?
It's been more time since I bought the laptop that I was not able to use 4k 120hz than I was able to use it.
Ended up RMA-ing the laptop, fingers crossed I'll get a fixed replacement

It’s a software issue. Changing it for the same laptop won’t do anything. If I do a factory reset with old drivers it works fine. Let us know though if it changes

For you. It may be, not for me. I have even reflashed it with the Razer Recovery image I got from support, so even with the BIOS, the driver stack and Windows being what they were at purchase time, it didn't work for me.
I reinstalled the recovery image tonight and installed the December Nvidia driver they said was the last driver that was working. No other software was installed/updated. After install, a black screen appeared again and no startup screen or power. I’m going to RMA this POS
Any help? Still waiting on Razer
I've also been having issues with black screens, though I have the late 2019 Razer Blade Pro 4K 120 Hz model. I was able to get the latest NVIDIA 466.11 update working on the RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, but only if I run the system on NVIDIA Optimus which negates the purpose of having the extra expensive 4K 120 HZ model. Why have a 120 HZ screen if I can't use the 120 Hz screen? It reflects poorly on Razer as a company and will hurt the company's business and harm customer loyalty if Razer doesn't give adequate support to its customers, especially those who paid for particularly expensive products like us in this forum. I've been dealing with black screen issues since the Windows 2004 update and intermittent issues with various NVIDIA drivers not working, or certain games not running unless I'm using NVIDIA Optimus (Portal 2 is a recent example, I get a black screen unless I use NVIDIA Optimus but then I can't play in 120 HZ! It renders my purchase of this extra expensive PC as pointless!). I really wish there could be some firmware fix or communication between Razer and NVIDIA or RAZER and Microsoft or with whoever it takes to finally fix this longstanding issue that makes me deeply regret my purchase of this otherwise great PC.
Agreed. It’s a software issue and if I update past the 5/2020 driver that comes installed on the Razer image you use to restore the laptop to the factory settings, it won’t work in dedicated GPU mode, only optimus mode which negates the 120hz screen feature. We have to keep pressing Razer on this.
Yep, we definitely need to keep pressing Razer about this. At the very least, we deserve some transparency as to what progress has been made and why it's taken almost a year to resolve these issues. As far as I can tell, no progress has been made, and considering everyone in this thread paid extra money for the extra expensive model of this computer, it's unacceptable that we don't have more answers.

agreed. Is this happening on the 3080 laptops also?
I'm not sure, I can only speak for the 4K 120 HZ late 2019 model of Razer Blade Pro, which came with an RTX 2080 Max-Q. But from the looks of it, I've seen other forums of people with various models of the Razer Blade Pro who have had similar issues of black screens and an inability to apply certain Windows and/or NVIDIA updates without causing black screens. Considering how widespread it is, I'm surprised these issues haven't been addressed sooner. I'm able to use the latest NVIDIA driver that came out, 466.27, but only on NVIDIA Optimus. That means I can't run games at 120 HZ, which was a major reason why I bought this particular model. It's quite disappointing that I can't use what I paid for. And I'd just roll back the NVIDIA update so that the 120 Hz works, but NVIDIA recently announced that there are security vulnerabilities in their outdated drivers so I don't want to risk using them, and I think it's unfair that so far the main suggestion I've seen as a "fix" has been to roll back and use outdated software, especially now in light of this security vulnerabilities. Here's a source about the NVIDIA driver security vulnerabilities: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/nvidia-gpu-owners-warned-about-serious-driver-bugs-update-now
I'd post in the thread dedicated to my particular late 2019 model instead of this one, but the thread for my model was closed (it reads "Not open for further replies.") despite the fact that no real solution was ever provided for these issues aside from just rolling back the drivers or updates that bring out the issue, which as I've said before in this thread, is a problem given the newly found security vulnerabilities in the older drivers. I hope history doesn't repeat itself with this thread and we can finally get some answers or a working solution. This is the thread I came from: /razer-17-pro-black-screen-after-2004-windows-10-update.63281/page-4
Update for my Razer Blade Pro 17 Fall 2019: I have sent the laptop to RMA department, they changed both fans and claim it is working now. It is, if the driver is from 2019:) If I update the driver for Nvidia to the latest one, the screen goes black during the update and I cant use dedicated GPU mode anymore, I am forced to use Nvidia Optimus.
Don't send your laptops to RMA, they will not be fixed, this seems to be a software issue but neither Nvidia or Razer know how to fix it or either care, which is incredible, since this is a very expensive laptop with 2080 GPU, also one of the most expensive GPU's.
Waiting for a fix Razer!

about what I figured they would do. It’s not a hardware issue because the laptop works perfect with drivers from 5/2020. Problem is when you update it past that you can’t run dedicated GPU mode. I’m not sure Razer knows how to fix it which is frustrating. Wonder if the new 3080 laptops do the same thing with the new drivers.
any update Razer?

I know the latest drivers from 2-4 weeks ago didn’t fix it. I just run the 05/2020 driver (from a year ago) and the dedicated GPU mode works fine. Frustrating we can’t update drivers
I've also wondered if this is worthy of a class-action lawsuit. I mean, so far we've been told by Razer support that we have one of two options. Either we can A.) not update our drivers and leave ourselves open to a slew of security vulnerabilities for Windows and/or NVIDIA just to be able to use our 120 Hz features that we paid extra money for and were promised by advertising, or B.) we can update our drivers and software to avoid having security vulnerabilities using NVIDIA Optimus while also voiding one of the main features promised for this product in advertising. Mind you, I'm not hating on the kind people I've spoken to in Razer Customer Support, they're just caught in the middle of the company Razer's poor business practices and have to do their best and watch what they say for the sake of their jobs- and I can respect that- but Razer has really gone too far with this. Are computer manufacturers bound by law to provide some basic level of maintenance for software and firmware for their products to ensure that they work as intended even as new security patches come out over time (at least for the measly span of a few months to a year after the product comes out)? I would certainly hope so. It doesn't seem right that the company that made our computers has basically told us collectively "Oh you want 120 Hz? Enjoy the security vulnerabilities. Oh what's that, you don't want security vulnerabilities? Well, I guess you'll have to swallow your pride and the hit to your wallet when you update and use NVIDIA Optimus so you don't get black-screened. What's that? Do you want a proper fix for that? Nah, we're done here, we have your money already." I'm sorry to come off so spiteful but I spent thousands on my computer only for these issues to start happening less than half a year after owning it, odds are that's the story for most of us here. Maybe there's a case here for a class action, I'd be all in. I would certainly caution anyone I know to avoid Razer products at this point, I've waited over a year now and I've tried patience but this is just ridiculous.

Need I mention as well that the previous forum I came from for my late 2019 model was marked "Not open for further replies," with the last official word from a Razer representative being that the fix was to roll back the updates to an older driver. As if that was an actual solution and not an attempt to kick the matter under the rug and forget it ever existed. "Rolling back the drivers" is far, far from an actual solution, and then the discussion of the matter in that forum was *closed* leaving me to flock to this thread for people with models newer than mine with the *same exact issue as my 2019 model*. So in other words, this black screen problem was known about the 2019 models and Razer didn't fix it for the 2020 models, and who knows if these same issues crop up in even newer models than that! I sincerely hope that people buying the newer models don't get screwed over the same way we did.

It's been a month since the last Razer update. (nearly) @Razer.Speedcr0ss, many more posts/updates from users. Any updates from Razer?
Just got a new Blade Pro 17 2020 with a 2080 super and am having the same issues. Glad I found this thread. Tried to update the drivers with GeForce Experience and got the black screen. Really hope we get a fix for this soon. Reverting to old drivers is not fun.
