Can't update it and tech support has no clue how to get this fixed. It is going to be escalated. Let's see how long it takes to get this resolved.

4K2HDHey mate, how did you do that? So you install a version of Windows that is even older than the out-of-factory version? Please show me how. Thanks.
So I went ahead and installed an OLDER VERSION OF WINDOWS prior to the May 2020 update and I can CONFIRM that I updated my NVIDIA GAME READY DRIVERS and it works fine. It is a big pain in the rear to doit but for those who want to try feel free to ask. In the meantime I will not update to 2004 until NVIDIA and Microsoft work out a solution.

Razer.CazielThis issue was present before Windows 2004. When I received my Blade Pro 17 I was getting the notification that there weren't any newer drivers and that was weeks before installing 2004.
I am currently working offsite, so I don't have all the details. But as far as I know, this only happens when updating the GPU driver to version 451.48 on Windows 10 2004. @LuizHBento We are doing what we can. A quick Google search would tell you that this isn't a Razer only issue as this has something to do with the updates that came with Windows 10 2004. Microsoft and NVIDIA had already stated that they are working together with their partners to fix this.

Hi, I did it too. I reinstalled windows; this time version 1909 and i can confirm that I can use the razer with the latest nvidia studio drivers in Nvidia GPU only mode with 120 Hz. Windows version: 1909, Nvidia 451.77. I did not have a black screen or something similar

Same issue here, I had to down grade to previous drivers. Here is a helpful trick, External monitor support will work even though the laptop screen wont. Once I plugged in monitor I was able to revert to older drivers that work. Razer REALLY needs to fix this. I posted last month about it and my post was deleted.

Mmmh? Doesn’t seem to be that issue. Microsoft is talking about older drivers whereas we have the problem with the latest Nvidia drivers. Since other manufacturers obviously don’t have this issue, I suppose Razer itself is still in the game to solve this.

I received my Pro 17 a month ago and just found out about this driver mess. Shame on me I suppose.. that said, mine arrived with Win10 1909 (18363.959 if it helps anyone) installed, and I manually updated to the most recent game ready driver just fine. Though Geforce Experience wouldn't as noted in prior posts.
I guess stay clear of 2004 until whatever issue it has is resolved.

I black screened, dealt with it, and stumbled upon this thread. WTF is this real Razer? I should have known there was an issue when I had to manually download and install. I don't feel like (at this time) going with an earlier windows version out of laziness, but had I seen this before ordering this thing I wouldn't have. Razer dropping the ball on this when, in my case, the RBP17 4k was a $3799 purchase, is inexcusable. As was stated before, the device is incapable atm of many of the marketed features, which is false advertisement to say the least, and likely worthy of compensation. My return window closes on the 12th, and I'm highly annoyed in having to face this decision but this is probably going back. Look's like it's out of stock but Razer is knocking $100 bucks off the price now down to $3699 on their site the only catch is you can't update your graphics drivers or do many of the things they market the device as being able to do. Major fail.

I will add, they are striking out on all fronts. Even trying to get the Razer care was a hassle. It didn't work when I put my serial in, had to contact support several times. Several emails, etc. All told, 8 days to figure out how to sell me a service they offer for sale. I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here but it's getting hard.

seanjmaryWhich marketed features do you mean? Did they state anywhere it will works with the latest Nvidia drivers right out of the box? This’s windows PC not an Apple PC where the hardware drivers is made by their own. No offense but I’m also on Apple Eco, they do great since they do exclusively to their own hardware but on PC world manufacturers should work nvidia intel or even other vendors to make them work together, driver incompatibility issue is common here and sometimes you should wait for an update regardless how much money is thrown on the device. What I learned after using Windows pc, don’t upgrade nor update if it isn’t necessary since sometimes it comes also with issues that might ruins your use experience, look some forums if the update is fine is also not a bad idea. I might be wrong since I don’t have this blade model and missed some important features that made Blade Pro failed to fulfill the marketing features, in that case I’m sorry. Btw Blade pro 4K 120Hz is one of rarest panel that apparently a lot enthusiast want, maybe due shortage it’s now out of stock. And price discount does any manufacturers now due summer sales, I remember also buying blade 15 back then and a month later it comes like 20% off on retailer I know that time razer Store Made also discount not as low as that retailer though but like 100 or more € cheaper, that’s how technology goes now, discount to clean the stock or if new one comes the old one would have reduced price, not because it has an issue, even with hardware issue (I know other brand that has motherboard possibility issue) they won’t make discount because of it, instead renew or fix it quietly and keep the price unchanged.
As was stated before, the device is incapable atm of many of the marketed features, which is false advertisement to say the least, and likely worthy of compensation.

Razer.SpeedCr0ssI created a case yesterday and the support agent seemed not to be aware of the situation. I pointed him towards the various threads around here. Case (*Omitted for security reasons) Have a Blade Pro 17 2020 4k and also got into the situation that Windows 10 2004(which was offered by Windows Update) in combination with latest Nvidia Drivers caused dedicated GPU-only mode to stop working. Had to switch to Optimus mode in BIOS and reverted back to Windows 10 1909 for the time being.

DurzoThe latest Nvidia Game Ready DCH Drivers 451.67 from July 9th are working fine for me on my RB17 Pro 2020 with Windows 10 1909. Had to download/install them manually from Nvidia. Haven't played around with uninstalling/downgrading drivers as my Windows upgrade experience was enough hassle for me ;)

I had this problem and was about to send it in for repairs but I told Tier 2 support that its a software issue and not a hardware issue. So they sent me a download link to BIOS version 1.04 and after installing and updating windows 10. I can play with the latest drivers at 120hz with no black screen or switching to Optimus. This is on my 2020 Razer 17 pro 4k
