Can't update it and tech support has no clue how to get this fixed. It is going to be escalated. Let's see how long it takes to get this resolved.

For my Pro 17 4k the latest BIOS is still 1.04
I got a Pro 17 4k (2019 - Fall) version and it also shows 1.04 as the latest.

Hello there! There's no official fix yet. The team is still investigating the issue. Please bear with us. The team will ensure to update this thread once we have one.
Any chance there's an official update on this yet?
Following a couple of threads here on the forums and it doesn't seem like that's the case, but it's been a solid amount of time without much in the way of tangible public details made available.
Curious if these behaviors are limited to Razer units or if there may be a broader scope problem with other hardware running Nvidia cards on this recent Windows update. I've got a friend with a laptop having similar problems but I don't think they have a razer laptop.
Not to mention I'm a bit terrified to use my own blade that I recently got back from an RMA for display issues.

Hi there! The team is currently monitoring those laptops that underwent RMA. Apologies, but I can't make any statement until the team has a conclusion after the investigation. Thanks for understanding.
Hey Razer, honestly it is not fair that we still have to wait for solution. I would like to remind you that a 120 Hz 4k display the reason to buy this laptop for many of us. We still have the black screen problem. So the laptop does not work advertized. Every time it goes to hybernation OR sometimes after a fast reboot the screen remains black. On a daily base it is therefore unusable in 120 hz mode.
P.S. TTo circumvent the issue and to make sure that there is no black screen after a reboot i have to make a clean shutdown via shutdown.exe "/"p "/" f

Your point is well taken. I can't invalidate your claim as I also want the issue fixed. I've notified our Support Team.
Hey everyone! Feel free to submit a case so our Support Team can track those affected users and gather information from each laptop to help the investigation. I appreciate everyone's cooperation.

Oh, of course that definitely makes sense. Obviously we wouldn't want to be speculating on impact and causes while the investigation into those items is still underway.. haha.
To everyone else: I'm sure that it's easy for any one currently experiencing this problem to think "WOW, Razer must not care about me/customers/etc" but please keep in mind that these sorts of problems can have very well obfuscated and hard to find underlying causes. Having to send your unit in for an RMA is a headache, and sometimes working with Support can be tedious - but you risk sounding totally out of touch by complaining about not being treated fairly when in fact you definitely are. o_O😳
Im following this thread to get the update for the fix but is there a better or correct way to track this besides the thread?
Just here to say 1.06 bios does not fix the issue. Still forced to use Optimus mode in order to use latest nvidia drivers. Trying to do dedicated GPU results in the same black screen issue. Really miss my 120hz Newer games don't like to run on the old nvidia drivers so I am forced to take a performance hit but not using dedicated gpu. Amazed how it is taking months and months to find a fix that actually stays fixed. $4k laptop that I specifically bought for 4k 120HZ and I can't use it. I think we have all been more than patient and we should at least be told what the root cause is.

why not downgrade your driver. That worked for me.

As I said I can no longer downgrade to 452.06 due to some games needing the more recent drivers to function properly. Also Nvidia Voice/broadcast RTX does not work on 452.06.
"For NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX or higher, NVIDIA Broadcast requires NVIDIA Display Driver version 456.38 or higher."
The newly released NVIDIA driver version 457.30 appears to have resolved the issue on my Blade Pro 17 (Early 2020). Can someone else upgrade and confirm? I'm able to use 120Hz refresh in the games that were previously black-screening and everything else appears normal. I'm also using the 1.06 BIOS.

Give me 1hr and I'll report back for what it does to my 4k 120hz blade pro 17
I was using the 452.02 version until yesterday.
If I use a higher vesion, that makes screen black.
But I update to 457.30 version today, it works fine.
I also use 4k 120hz razer blade pro 17 (2020).
I hope it will be helpful to you, guys.

So, unless Razer had something to do with the development of 457.30 (which I doubt), this certainly appears to have been an NVIDIA problem all along and not a Razer problem. Just need a few more people to confirm and maybe Razer Support can also test 457.30 and provide an official response.
Bios 1.06?
I've heard enough that I will be plunging forward with the update. So far 2 month's long issues with updating our expensive graphics cards. Hopefully this is the last issue
Razer Blade Pro 17 4k late '19 BIOS 1.04 NVIDIA driver 457.30
After closing cover and reopening, the screen stays black like all other versions after 452.06 and hibernation of the screen. Reverting back to 452.06 again. Hibernation problem still needs a solution.

I'll try DDU and install 457.30 again but I am not hopeful. 452.06 is still the only one without issues.
Newest driver works for me on 20H2 kernel.

What BIOS are you on? I've stayed away from 20H2 given the last round of issues, but if that helps to resolve things, then...

Razer.. where are you in this? I thought you were vying for the "best tech support" crown. No?
@Razer.SpeedCr0ss Any updates? Its been way too long without a single update of what the actual cause it and what is being done. Wish I was still in the return window. Never have I had such issues with any other laptop or company. Never again
