Razer Blade Won’t Turn On

I’ve been having a couple issues with my blade for the past week. It started when I hooked up an external monitor everything was fine for a couple minutes and then it went to sleep. Once it woke up the laptop’s monitor was off and wouldn’t turn on so I restarted it. Once it was back both monitors were on but the laptop’s monitor had no backlight so it was barely visible. I tried restarting and it didn’t work so I shut down. Then it wouldn’t turn on for a long time so I tried holding the power button then plugging it in and pressing the button again but that didn’t help. It randomly turned on after a while.



I turned off automatic sleeping when idle but it kept falling asleep when I was using it sometimes after 5 mins sometimes after a couple hours and I would have to shut it down then try to turn it on for an hour and then it would randomly turn on again. This time it’s been over a day and it won’t turn on again.
Whatever you do, do NOT open it up and try to self troubleshoot. Better off reaching out to Razer Support to avoid nullifying your warranty.



I had the exact same thing happen, took some troubleshooting steps like yours and then a bit further based on similar troubleshooting steps I found (either here somewhere or on /r/razer )

I made the mistake of advising their support team that I followed the advice they had given someone else in the same situation as me, and they let me know that my warranty was as dead as my laptop screen.



Still works perfectly with an external display though, so I guess that'll be the last razer product I buy while I throw some parts together rather than pay ~1K or more for an out of warranty repair. 😑
