Razer Book 13 continuous BSOD | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hi all, wondered if anyone had any advice.

I've been plagued with BSOD and crashes since I've had my Razer Book 13.

I've tried everything I can find online, dug through dump files, reinstalled windows 4 times with no luck. I've understood that the problem is with the graphics card/driver from examining the log files and having others look in other forums, but none of their suggestions to fix the issue make a difference. I've already tried the following:

- Updating graphics driver via Intel Support Assistant;

- Downgrading graphics driver to ones suggested online from users with the same model and issue;

- Running a memory diagnostic;

- Running a scan of my hard drive;

- Reinstalling windows;

- Setting the screen refresh to 48p;

- Ensuring windows was updated;

- Removing windows updates;

- Stress testing (doesn't crash on stress test, only when it feels like it);

- Turning off graphics acceleration on all of my software;

- Turning off the touchscreen (no longer have this on);

- ...even resetting the system time.

Honestly, I'm at the end of my patience with this laptop. I've seen threads with the same errors, the BSOD errors range and are different each time. Sometimes I can go a month without it crashing, other times several times a day. At present I'm on an earlier version of the graphics driver, as the latest release caused a BSOD for me almost every minute and was more unstable than what I have.

Surely someone must have a Razer Book 13 that doesn't crash all the time? It's a good laptop for me, but if I can't solve it, it will unfortunately be the last Razer product I buy as I feel like I've wasted £1,000 on a product that works 50% on the time (and I keep losing my work).

System: Windows 10 Home 21H1, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 touch screen Razer Book 13 with intel iris xe.

Are you still using the original SSD and memory module that came with this unit? Also, try the other steps from this link (aside from the memory diagnostic tool) and see if it helps. Should the issue persists, please send me a PM, including the laptop's serial number, so I can check its details and provide model-specific recommendations.
