Hi @AngelineLGDR,

Did you already try adjusting the screen’s brightness in Windows settings or using the keyboard keys? Try checking the power setting as well for further isolation. Should the problem persists, please PM me the serial number of your laptop so I can verify its model and check for other model-specific steps to help you address the screen problem. Thanks!

Hello! Yes, I’ve tried adjusting the brightness of the screen but still does not work.

By the way, I tried to connect it on my TV through HDMI.  Everything on my laptop screen is clearly projected on the TV, but still the display on my laptop screen is still very dim which looks like it only has blank black screen.

Thanks!

I got the same issue as well. Tried to reset it, nothing, tried to update drivers and nothing. Still works with external display and the touch screen works. It is very dark but you can barely make out stuff on screen but not really.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on this model. Anyone from Razer can help?

I am having the same issue. It has nothing to do with software or BIOS.

It is your physical panel that is failing.

Please try half open the lid, and at certain angle (low enough), you will see the backlight of the panel back on. But if you open the lid any further, the backlight will go out again.

This is the problem of the panel and it is not repaireable. I have my first Razer Book 13 replaced because it was still in warrenty. But my second Book 13 is failing again after about a year’s use. And I don’t have any warranty right now.

Hi. I have the exact same problem as Angelinelgdr.

Same laptop same issue. Using win 11.

Tried the same method as Angeline if I duplicate the screen for another device it's projects everything but the actual laptop screen is still black as midnight. I used my phone's flashlight to be able to navigate through setting... It's really annoying for me and funny for whoever is looking looking at me.

Can somebody help me out please 🥺?

I just have the same issue. It was worked well but suddenly, now the screen is so dim just see some things running on the screen.

How can I ask for the support?

Hello, I am experiencing the same problem with my Book.  It started to flicker one day when opening and went black, but closing it and reopening it resolved the matter.  A few days later however, I only get a very dim display nearly black.  I tried all the troubleshooting actions but no success.  Someone above mentioned it is not repairable.  This is definitely not something I expect from a Razer (or any other) laptop from a light usage.  I bought it 2022 November, hardly a year ago. Razer does not want to deal with it as it is out of warranty.  Can anyone help please?  Thank you.

Same problem here with normal office use! And razer wants me to pay 220 EUR just to analyze it!!!

Razer here you go - > Flex cable is broken because of poor hardware design. Fix it!

I am having the same issue, i razer has not give me a solution. Do to this experience i do not think i would ever buy anything from them again. I just use this laptop for office stuff, take good care of it and bought it at 2022, and is giving me the screen dim issue with no garanty recover. This sucks and am highly disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone to buy a razor laptop.

ok all

this screen problem on the book 13 is to do with the lid opening riben as you open close the laptop the riben stretches till it loses connectivity screen goes fuzzy breaks up lines etc till nothing

my laptop went back 3 times in total  to Germany over a 6 month period with razer under warranty even they could not  fix it they tracked down another spec book 13 usa  & swapped keyboard power supply etc to uk spec  this is one flawed laptop shocking when it was £2k new  my last ever razer product

Poorly built

Hello,

has this issue been resolved?

I've noticed that my Razer Book 13 dims whenever the display opens more than 90° and goes into additional touchscreen mode. This can be seen in the HID in the settings. When this happens, it goes almost black. The external monitor works perfectly, even when the laptop's display is open below the ~90° angle.

So I can assume it's something to do with the software, as the hardware seems to work fine.

Hi all,

After a long time of frustration trying to find the screen cable, I finally found it on AliExpress!
You can search for “LCD Cable for Razer Book 13 RZ09-0357” to buy one.

I can now say with confidence that the issue was caused by the screen cable. My screen works perfectly after replacing it (and I’m writing this message using it!).

I won’t buy anything from Razer due to their lack of support and doesn’t follow right to repair.

You can try a Black Screen Test (just show a solid black image) to see whether the screen flickers or brightness changes. If you still see a dim or inconsistent screen, then it’s very likely a hardware issue (backlight, ribbon cable, etc.).

How can I check that properly? Should I just open a full black image for the Black Screen Test, or is there a specific way to see if the brightness or flicker changes clearly?

You can check this https://geo-peek.com/backlight-bleed-test/ it shows solid and near-black screens so you can observe flicker, bleed, or brightness inconsistencies clearly.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. The test helped me spot the brightness inconsistency right away.
