Razer chroma app is just totally broken!!! In fact, I think it's Razer overall that is broken...

Since the release of the Chroma app, everything seems to be broken. I can't even describe the amount of problem I have, ranging from device not being detected to random disconnection and the app needing me to open it manually to be able to control anything (even if it starts automatically with my system). Usually, it works well with stuff like keyboards and mouses lights, but if i wanna mess with, let's say any thing that is supposed to connect with chroma connect like Govee lights or msi stuff, or the Razer ARGB controller, nothing seems to work correctly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing seems to do it. This software is truly a mess and I can't even understand how this is not still in beta. Razer's QA really needs to put it's s*** together and TEST IT’S SOFTWARES BEFORE RELEASING!!! (also it's hardware in fact since I’ve had countless problems with them and went trough multiple RMA process). I’ll end this rant by asking Razer to please read their own forum. I saw plenty of threads started by users having problems with software and hardware but no one from Razer team seems to ever answer these threads. This is truly ridiculous at this point coming from a big company like that.

I agree….I’m having the problem since the update this month with the Razer Chroma RGB ‘fail to start’ message when opening the app. I hit the ‘Retry’ tab and it recycle back to the same screen. Razer fix your app!

Were u able to fix the “failed to start” issue. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 weeks and I have tried everything to fix it to not avail.

Same, updated earlier this month and it completely lost the profile.  Reset it up and it randomly quits working either from just shutting down or losing my keyboard.  Super annoying.  I actually have Rog keyboard for another machine and it’s just worked out of the box or updated even if you don’t set up a color sequence/scene.    This dumb thing loses it’s mind and all the lighting goes dead, though at least it still types I suppose.


Garbage app like most of Razer software. Mine just hangs and I have to manually nuke ALL of Razer garbage apps and restart it, then it will work for a while and then it will freeze again. Keyboard will stay lit but not play the lighting animations and such.

Also happening since last update.

What’s your S.O? because I’m trying with W11 and for the moment it’s fine but, it’s in a VM

Update: I tested on another VM, but now with windows 10 everything works perfectly, Keyboard, Synapse and Chroma.

I solved the problem with uninstall the drivers of my keyboard and changed the USB port in MB, extra step: I clear all registry of w10 with a program for that, and uninstall razer synapse with Revo unistall
