Razer Core + Fan on my laptop

Hello, 

I used my Razer 15 laptop daily for work and gaming. When at work, run programs such as Excel make the fan spin, which make a lot of noises. 

My laptop is 3 years old so I was thinking on buying a Razer Core and a new graphic card to give my laptop some performance boost. 

I was wondering with the Razer Core plug in all day, will this help with the fan kicking in all day long with my laptop?
