I am very interested in the Razer Core X Chroma. But the one problem is I don't know what results I will get when using it. I watched a LTT video in which Linus talked about pairing the Razor Blade Stealth with the eGPU. I was looking into purchasing the Razor Blade Stealth but than I wondered why don't I just use the eGPU on my current laptop. The problem is I don't know what the results will be. I currently have a Microsoft Surface Book 2 and I was wondering if I would get same or similar results that I would get with the Razer Blade Stealth. All I want to do is use the laptop during the day at school than when I get back home just plug it in and get to gaming.

Unfortunately core X is thunderbolt 3 (TB3) egpu enclosure and your surface book 2 doesn’t have it, you’ve to have laptops that has TB3, laptop like blade stealth is recommended since it has good cooling and top notch PCIe3 with 4 lanes, and the icelake CPUs on stealth late 2019 and current 2020 is even better due TB3 controller inside the chips that means even less bandwidth penalty compared previous that run gpu signal first through pch controller before goes to cpu. However older stealth performance bump from its iGPU by using an egpu enclosure is already huge (depends on gpu inside it).
