So my set up is laptop - core x - monitor, usually I use the monitor exclusively with my laptop screen off



Few months ago the core x starts to disconnect itself while I'm using. The monitor screen would freeze, followed by the laptop screen turning on. Then I'd unplug the thunderbolt, restart laptop, and plug in thunderbolt and everything would work again.



Today the same thing except the restart/replug no longer works. I tried unplugging every cable and putting them back, including the power from the core x to gpu. Now there's just no response at all and the GPU fans won't even run, usually the GPU fans run as soon a I plug the core x into the laptop.



I don't think it's the power source because the core x still charges my laptop no problem. How do I identify whether it's the core x or the Nvidia GPU that I need to replace? Both are 2+ years old and out of warranty.

Did you try updating the laptop's NVIDIA and Intel drivers to latest version? Should the issue persists, please send me a PM or submit a case to our Support Team.
