Razer Core X + MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GAMING X TRIO

I've got a Razer Core X, connected to a MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GAMING X TRIO Turing Graphics Card, not getting any connection. I think I know the answer but maybe I'm wrong. It has the following:
  • 1 x 6-pin PCIe
  • 2 x 8-pin PCIe
And of course the Core X only has 2 x 8-Pin. I'm assuming it's just not getting enough power and that's the reason my Razer Blade 14" (2017) isn't seeing the card. But before I send it back thought i'd ask the hive mind. I've tried reinstalling drivers and have updated to the latest and greatest of all things BIOS, Intel and Windows 10.

Ordered a power cable that splits 1 x 8 to 2 x 8 so will give that a whirl and report back if there's any other n00bs like me out there.
