Razer Core X v2 - Connection Stability Issues

I’m having a persistent issue connecting Razer Core X V2 (TB5) to Eurocom Raptor X18 laptop.

Problem:

  • Enclosure powers on normally (GPU fans + lighting active)
  • System detects the enclosure, but the RTX 5090 inside is recognized but unable to establish a stable connection via TB5 (Windows keeps cycling until it times out).
  • The RTX 5090 keeps showing up in the Device Manager but disappearing after Windows cycles out.
  • Device Manager shows PCIe Upstream Switch Port – Code 10
  • Connecting the eGPU often causes the internal laptop GPU to fail and fall back to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

Steps already taken:

  • Verified Windows integrity (DISM + SFC clean)
  • Cleaned background software (removed non-essential startup apps)
  • Tested multiple connection sequences (cold plug, hot plug, different power order)
  • Attempted NVIDIA driver install (fails during download)
  • Confirmed proper PSU installation and cabling
  • Repeated tests produce the same result

Current state: The enclosure is detected, but the GPU never initializes, and the connection destabilizes the system graphics stack after Windows cycles out trying to establish the connection.

Request: Please advise on:

  • Recommended TB5 connection/boot sequence
  • Required drivers or firmware for Core X V2
  • Any known compatibility issues with systems that already have a dedicated NVIDIA GPU
  • Diagnostic logs you’d like me to provide
  • Next steps if this indicates a hardware or firmware issue
