You can adjust the brightness on the Lighting Tab on Synapse. By the way, do you mind checking if the keyboard's lighting dims right after Synapse is launched during startup?

Does it only start to dim as soon as Synapse is running in the background? For now, try to perform a clean installation of the app by following this guide. I also highly recommend that you test the keyboard on another machine. Send me a short clip detailing the issue along with the serial number. Let's go from there.
