I had purchased a Razer Cynosa V2 a few years back to take advantage of the somewhat quieter keys (my house is an amplifier I swear), and after a long-overdue cleaning, one of the posts on the spacebar that hook onto the metal rod that distributes the keypress snapped clean off where it attaches to the keycap (luckily flush against it). I had managed to repair it then with a little dab of superglue, and it was working fine, but once again when trying to clean it a couple days ago, the same one snapped off again right at the base. After the requisite day’s wait for glue to dry, this time it is refusing to spring back up when put back in place properly, stuck in the depressed position until I lift it manually with something wedged underneath it. It snapped off again after this last repair, but I don’t want to try fixing it again until I have an idea of what I did wrong this time.
I’m on something of a budget and can’t really afford to go hunting for a new keyboard when literally the only thing that doesn’t work is the spacebar, but because of the proprietary keycap design, I’m kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. I would appreciate any advice that anyone can give as to why it’s not working this time. Thanks!
