Razer Deathadder V2 & OSX

I just bought a Razer Deathadder V2, found the Synapse 2 software, registered with Razer (ugh!), restarted twice and now the software tells me to PLEASE CONNECT A RAZER SYNAPSE ENABLED DEVICE.

Do these mice not work under OSX? If not, then I guess that's on me but in 2020 it didn't even occur to me that they wouldn't.

edit: So, I've done all the troubleshooting I'm able and still can't get it work. I knew I should have stayed with Logitech; I just thought I'd see what all the fuss was about with Razer... Turns out, not much.
Hey, now, let's keep the salt levels to a minimum.

Anyways, if you're referring to newer Deathadder V2, Synapse 2 for macOS does not have support for it. For reference, please check this list of supported devices. The mouse should still work, but you will be limited to the basic functionality.
Limited to basic functionality? You really turned me around with that sterling piece of customer support.

Yeah, the buttons on the side can't even be used to page back and forth in a browser. All it does is point and click. It's a $100 paperweight. In fact, it's a $200 paperweight because I STILL NEED A MOUSE THAT DOES WHAT I NEED IT TO. So, I gotta go back and get another Logitech.

And salty? Give me a break. That was the gentlest rebuke. In fact, considering Razer ripped me off for $100 that post is a marvel of restraint.

Try this: fuck you. Fuck your shitty company and fuck your lousy products. Delete my account and stop sending me your fucking marketing garbage. You really think I'm ever going to buy another Razer product? Fuck you.
The mouse drivers on macOS don't have native support for buttons 4 and 5. This is why you need additional software to configure the buttons. I'm not sure what you want to hear from me, but we don't tolerate this level of toxicity in our forums.
