Since this thread was locked without any answer or solution I had to make a new thread with my own solution:
Anyway for people with a similar issue, might be worth checking out:
Issue:
- Computer won’t boot (to Windows) when specific USB device (mouse/keyboard) is connected.
- The computer will boot fine when specific USB device is not connected and the USB device will work fine when connected after booting.
- Other computers will boot fine when specific USB device is connected.
What is going on?
- The computer wrongly thinks this specific USB device is a boot device. This freezes the computer when it inspects the device / tries to boot from it.
Solution:
- Make sure storage operation mode is NOT set to RAID, and instead set to AHCI (https://support.thinkcritical.com/kb/articles/switch-windows-10-from-raid-ide-to-ahci)
- Setup boot priority/order correctly
