Razer Deathadder V3 Wired Frequently Disconnecting

Very peculiar issue with the deathadder v3 wired. The mouse works fine most of the time but periodically disconnections and needs to be moved around to reconnect. These issues spike when the PC is first booted, and are SIGNIFICANTLY worse after longer periods of inactivity (after 1 week of not using it the mouse was completely unresponsive). A temporary fix seems to be changing which USB port the mouse is plugged into (I’m on a timer, as my PC only has so many USB ports). The nature of the disconnection is:

  • Completely unresponsive mouse
  • Light at the bottom is still on
  • When moved around, if the mouse reconnects a windows connection sound plays
  • When disconnecting a windows “device not detected” (or something similar) notification appears
  • Is absent from synapse

The fixes I have tried:

  • Most basic fixes (updating software, deleting/updating synapse, windows, rebooting, updating drivers)
  • Completely changed motherboard on my PC (for unrelated reasons). This also means completely fresh USB ports.
  • Contacted RAZER support to get a replacement model (which I’ve received but the issue persists)

I’m curious as to what may be causing this issue? Clearly its not the RAZER hardware (unless RAZER somehow sent me two faulty mice), and likely not to do with my connection ports either (since both the mouse and motherboard/USB ports were replaced), I’m leaning towards a software bug. Is it possible it’s Windows or RAZER firmware that’s causing this? Or is it more likely to be some conflicting software I’ve got installed on my computer?

I could contact RAZER support the regular way but would likely just be directed towards the steps to obtain a replacement. Thanks for reading and if you have any ideas let me know!

I have the same issue. I bought the mouse at the end of April 2025, and it was working rock-solid for the next four months with Synapse 4. Then, sometime in September, it started randomly disconnecting when the mouse was left idle for an extended period (let’s say about an hour of inactivity).

Sometimes it wouldn’t be resurrected by any movement, and the only way to fix it was to reconnect the USB cable (even reconnecting it to the same port works fine in my case). Other times, Device Manager shows an unrecognized device, and shortly after that my mouse and keyboard get reconnected. I guess Windows itself restarts the internal USB hub to fix the issue.

After that, the mouse works without any issues. It has been like this for months, and I bet it’s a software issue, because I didn’t have these issues when I tried the mouse with Synapse 3.

Today it got disconnected with a “USB device not recognized” notification just after logging in to Windows, without being idle, and it wouldn’t reconnect. I had to reinsert the USB plug to make it work again. I will RMA the mouse because my older DeathAdder V2 has been working without any issues for over five years.

Quick update for anyone also experiencing this, I’m pretty sure it was a software issue. After I updated my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11 the issue seems to be fixed.

I am on Windows 11 and started experiencing this 1 week ago. Have owned the mouse for 3 months now.

I am also quite certain that it is a software issue since even after trying to remove Synapse, remove sleeping option in Device Manager, updating firmware, reinstalling drivers ALL the issues that you describe in the original post continues for me (verbatim).

Quite unsure what to do, any help would be appreciated.

My final attempt is going to be download Razer Synapse 3 instead of 4 and see if it makes a difference.

Was your DA3 made in China or Thailand? The one that developed issues was made in China, and its cable braiding has been twisted since day one. A few days ago, I bought a new one that was made in Thailand; its cable braiding looks good, and so far there have been no issues. I will RMA the old one because, to me, it looks more like a hardware issue—probably a factory-damaged cable, possibly a bad batch that some of us received.
