Razer Hanbo 240mm Disconnecting Repeatedly | Razer Insider

Hello,

Yesterday I purchased a Hanbo AIO for my computer and I’m having some issues with it. I’m debating just working to return it, but that means taking it back out of my PC and back to the store.

Essentially, I completed installation last night and things seemed fine. This morning I started up my PC and all was great for about 3 hours of low-level use and web browsing. After 3 hours I started getting occasional disconnect sounds for USB disconnections. I found out it was the AIO disconnecting and reconnecting periodically. After another hour or so, my AIO then began repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting. This was a constant connect followed by disconnect nearly instantly. Then it would happen again about 5 seconds later. This went on through a few restarts and setting checks, all the while the AIO fans and pump were not working and CPU temps climbed. I ensured that USB is not subject to power saving, I confirmed that the AIO was the issue by watching it disconnect repeatedly in the Device Manager. No other device issues were occurring.

I then opened the case to check all connections and everything looked fine. Regardless, I changed the USB header it was plugged into and am instead using the second header on the motherboard. This seemed to resolve the issue for about 30 minutes, and now I’m getting disconnections again.

I found other support threads here that were unanswered, and threads on reddit like this also unanswered or unresolved: https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/18m0cuo/razer_hanbo_chroma_aio_faulty_cable_cpu_block/

I’m thinking I need to go return this and get one that works from a different manufacturer, but figured I’d ask here first.

I fortunately figured out that the best way to fix this was to return the thing rather than to wait for a reply here. So the answer, for anyone looking, is to return it right away and not even mess with Razer support. Instead just buy a much better product like a Lian Li or something. Asking here means you can wait 60 days and have literally no one comment back. No “#help.” No “support.”
