I’ve had my kb 4.5 years now and right after the warranty ran out the volume knob stopped working correctly.  I’ve tried blowing it out before but that didn’t do anything.  Mine was so bad that it would just start changing the volume from the vibration of me typing.  The other day I watched a youtube video where a guy used CRC QD electrical cleaner and sprayed it into the area underneath the knob and got it working again.

Well I tried his method and lo and behold my volume knob started working again just like new.  I used liberal amounts of the cleaner spraying from the side into the space between the bottom of the knob and the space below it where the contact plate is located.  After spraying I set the keyboard on its end with the volume side down and let it dry about 5 minutes just to make sure nothing was left inside.

Gents this method worked for me and I’m finally able to use the volume again.  I had been using a 3rd party USB volume control and I was able to put it away.  Saved me from buying a new keyboard as I had a blackwidow v4 pro on order but cancelled it once I saw that the volume was working again.
