Razer Huntsman V3 HE 8Khz - Keys pressing on their own, double pressing, and dropped inputs

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Razer Huntsman V3 HE 8Khz but I am experiencing major key input issues:

* Phantom/Self-Actuation: Keys activate on their own without being touched (like ESC, Tab, Caps Lock, or movement keys).

* Double Pressing / Chattering: Single keypresses frequently register twice.

* Dropped Inputs: Keys randomly fail to register or drop inputs while being held down during gameplay.

I handed the physical keyboard back to the retailer so they could send/submit it to Razer for an inspection and warranty replacement.

My questions for the community and Razer Support:

1. Is this a known sensor/hardware defect that requires a full unit replacement (RMA), or has Razer released a firmware update that actually fixes this?

2. For anyone who faced this issue, did getting a replacement unit solve the problem permanently, or did the issue remain the same?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I've bought one and I'm currently waiting for delivery. Naturally, seeing your comment made me a bit worried I might run into the same issue. You could try using the switch calibration feature in Razer Synapse (the desktop app, not the web version) — and please let me know if that fixes it for you!

@k1ll3rbr0 Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, I've already tried everything—including the switch calibration feature in the Synapse desktop app—and nothing worked. I ended up returning the keyboard to the store, and they've now sent it back to Razer directly for inspection/replacement. Hope your unit works smoothly out of the box!

Thank you! I think that keyboard might have a defect or something similar, but hopefully it’s just an isolated issue and not a common problem with many keyboards.

Enjoy your new keyboard, and I hope you have a great experience using it!

Hey there, @jinh8man

I understand that you are experiencing multiple key input issues with your Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz, including phantom key presses (self-actuation), double key presses/chattering, and dropped inputs during gameplay.  Please send me a PM with the following information so I can check your device's warranty details:

  • Device serial number (S/N)
  • Proof of purchase that clearly shows the retailer's name

You can upload the photo of your proof of purcahse using this link and then send me the link once it’s uploaded. Thank you!

Additionally, since you mentioned that the retailer submitted the keyboard for inspection, did they provide you with a case number? If the retailer has already contacted our support team and you were given a case number, please share it with me as well. This will allow me to review what has transpired so far and check the current status of the case. Thank you!

Hi @k1ll3rbr0

I understand that you are concerned about potentially experiencing the same issue with the Razer Huntsman V3 HE 8KHz that was mentioned in this thread, especially since your keyboard is still on its way.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestion regarding the switch calibration feature in Razer Synapse. Since your keyboard has not yet been delivered, I recommend testing it thoroughly once you receive it.

If you encounter any issues with your keyboard, such as unintended key presses, double typing, or missed inputs, please send me a PM along with your device's serial number, proof of purchase, and a description of the issue. I'll be happy to assist you further and help determine the best course of action.

I hope your keyboard arrives without any issues, but if you need assistance, feel free to reach out anytime. Thank you!
