This update installed via Windows Update on 7/7/2023. Ever since the update I’m getting a constant usb connecting/disconnecting sound and if I’m lucky the “unable to connect to USB” pops up long enough that I can click on it and lock it to a window so I’m not getting constantly pinged. When I go through windows updates, there is no update for me to uninstall, when I search online there are no resources to download this separately and attempt another install. The only thing I could find that helped temporarily is in device manage, under hidden devices there is a “Razer Device” which I uninstalled and restarted. Which fixed the issue for a little bit until it came back about 2 hours ago and then mysteriously cleared up again.
Whats the deal with this driver; Why isn’t it showing up in windows updates? Why is there no online documentation? Why does the windows website not include this update?

I found that it’s causing a conflict with the USB hub in my MSI monitor so I had to unplug the extension USB. Haven’t had the issue since. I haven’t been able to roll back the driver or even find its location to uninstall/reinstall to confirm its the driver causing the conflict and not the usb hub itself; but seeing as the problem started immediately after installing the driver I have to assume that’s the cause.
Just to note, the USB hub isn’t in use at all. If I unplug my Razer mouse the problem stops immediately. Almost certainly some kind of driver conflict from my experience.
Just got the notification to update via Windows Update as well, any updates? Hesitant to let it install if there are still issues.

Hey! Just restarted my computer to run some Windows 10 updates and after rebooting, all my USB stuff disconnected and reconnected, playing the disconnect sound. It only flickered once, and came back, unlike the constant noise the original poster was hearing. When checking my tool bar thing, I noticed that there was another Windows 10 update pending right after I just restarted to update, and its the “Razer Inc - HIDClass - 6.2.9200.16547” update you guys are seeing.
I also have a USB hub, but it is a stand alone hub that is connected to my MOBO IO panel. The only thing that is Razer brand is my headset, the Blackshark V2 Pro Wireless Headset or so.
Have not had the issue again yet, but worried it may happen again at a bad time.
I have not installed the driver update yet, and still had a USB disconnect/reconnect issue. What the heck? Not sure if I should install it now and see what happens, since I am going to have to anyway as it is not giving me an option to refuse it. I’ll keep an eye on this thread to see if any new info pops up and update if problems continue.
searched this updated cause I saw it pending restart. Thanks for the heads up and update. Will at least have an idea what to do in case I do end up having some similar issues.

My Windows 11 just notified me that this update installed and it’s pending a restart. I’m not even using Synapse as I uninstalled it a while ago since it kept preventing me from restarting or shutting down Windows.
I thought this might be a fix for Synapse to stop giving an error on restart or shutdown. I’ll give it a shot and monitor if my PC explodes or stops working. I’ll try installing this and report back if I have issues.

Just installed on Windows 11 22H2, no issues here yet. My Orochi v2 is maintaining a stable connection, no disconnects or stutters. Running the latest KB5028185 “Moment 3” Windows update too.
This driver is sitting in my ready to install on Windows 11 update. It used to be in optional. I have automatic driver updates disabled. This is sooo frustrating! I don’t want the new driver. It caused problems for me in the past with the USB disconnect issues. How do I remove this driver from the list of “Ready to install” in windows update??
--- I figured it out. Make sure automatic driver updates are disabled in the policy manager. Reboot the PC. Then pause your updates from Windows update. The press resume updates, and the driver no longer appears.
Fortunately I did not let this driver install. I’m using an older driver for my Razer gaming keyboard that controls the lighting. The new driver don’t work with my older keyboard. So I do not want the newer drivers at all.
What systems are people encountering usb disconnects with? If you have AMD Ryzen 5000 series cpus with B550/X570 mobos, they are known to have usb connection issues with earlier bios versions. I updated my B550i bios, set my pcie to gen 3, and disconnects are rare now.

I had massive issues with installing any version of this, it lags the usb ports and is more like a virus. I haven't had this installed for my keyboard and it works perfectly. For me there's no reason to install this.
It's obviously is dependent on what you need from your peripherals.

I restore to that and windows immediately installs this driver before I have a chance to change anything. I deleted all cashed updates. It must be somewhere else on the system.

I would uninstall the driver, delete folders pertaining to razor, I’d also hit regedit and delete any keys related to razor. Don’t do this if you’ve never used the registry.

Unfortunately, I cannot find where or how to uninstall the driver. I can’t find anything in Device Manager that says the manufacture is Razer and I can’t find anyway to uninstall it. Do you know of a way to remove it?

Unfortunately, it’s not there. That’s only programs and this is a driver that doesn’t show up there.
I should have never updated my windows I was expecting this update was coming from Razer Leviathan V2 X speaker but I never did install the razer software on my PC because I can change the RGB, EQ etc on the Razer app via bluetooth on the phone. Some of my USB devices are incorrectly working now especially on the USB port on my monitor….. God I hate updating windows 10.
Thought I’d pop in with what appears to have been a solution for me. In my case I allowed them to install originally and it kept windows from starting properly.
From looking at the windows update catalog, that driver isn’t listed, but based on the version number it should be a very old one. It’s weird that it would be serving it up to us now, Windows itself has newer drivers listed.
Then in windows update I paused updates, and then resumed them. It acted like it installed them again anyway - but device manager reports the drivers as current and I was able to reboot normally.
Here’s another workaround for those who already have the driver installed and want to revert to a previous one, or just to check it has been properly reverted.
For mice & keyboards: Go to Device Manager(type into Start menu, or right click Start on Win11) → View menu, select “Devices by type”) → Human Device Interface → your device name(for me Razer Orochi V2). There are two entries with this name for me, double-click each, and find the one with driver version 6.2.9200.16547 under the Driver tab.
The Windows Update impacts this driver for me, updating from 6.2.9200.16545 to 16547. Both have a driver date of 1/2/2017. If you reverted using one of the methods others here have mentioned, check that it is NOT driver version ending in 16547 as that means the driver is still present on your system. Things are still smooth on 16547 for me so I am keeping it for now.
To revert, under the Driver tab, select “Update Driver”. In the window that opens, select “Browse my computer for drivers”, select “Let me Pick...”, and you’ll then be presented with a list of all compatible drivers on your system. From here select the version you want. You can also force install of any Razer drivers with the “Have Disk” option if you have another version not listed that you can locate on your computer. I recently updated to Windows 11 so I only have these two present. You may likely have others that have been delivered via Windows Update over time.
After you uninstall any Razer Windows updates, always re-check the driver version.
