Question

Razer installer files took up 456 GB (!!!) in my C:/Windows/SystemTemp folder

What the title of the thread says. I’m genuinely infuriated. These lose files take up more than half of my M2 SSD.

And the worst part is - they’re all locked and hidden with Window’s security feature, so I can’t even delete them. Once I select them - Widows says that they are all 0kb and empty. But WizTree shows how bad things actually are.

They’re all exactly the same in size and contents:

I’ve uninstalled all Razer utilities from my PC, but the folders, obviously, remained.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove all that trash?

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Ok. Once I’ve opened regedit and manually deleted everything that contained ‘razer’ in it (there was quite a pile) - it finally allowed me to delete all that trash.

Wow that's a big one.

You can always run CMD/powershell as administrator and delete it from CMD or powershell if there is a problem doing it from explorer.

Would you, please, explain to me how do you do that? I wasn’t able to find clear instructions on how to delete folders via CMD. Literally spent the whole day trying to find a way to remove those locked and unused update files.

Also - a friend of mine had 290GB of those as well. There is something seriously wrong with Razer’s software.
