Razer Invicta shockingly Trash

I payed a premium for a board i thought would last much longer than its competition. After a year, the smooth side has got parts compeltely worn away and it appears shiny in some areas, which when my Mamba Elite sensor glides over, it starts skipping and goes funny.

Then i hear razer dont even supply replacement parts on this??? This is shockingly poor, even from razer. I mean now all i have is an overpriced slab of metal i cant use for anything.

Anyone have any idea how i could source a replacement black plastic bit or recommendations for other mousemats? Although im thinking of going for the corsair hard mousemat next.

Thanks

Dang, that sucks. I almost sprung for the Invicta, but that price kept me away 😕.

Did you try contacting Razer Support? If its been under a year or somewhere around a year they might be able to help you out.

Not sure where you could find just the black plastic top... Maybe some folks on ebay are selling Invictas with broken bases? If you really want to keep the metal bottom and you like DIY, you might be able to cut another mouse mat to fit it.

As for recommendations, I've only had Razer mouse mats so I can't speak for others. Here's what I've had:

  • Razer Sphex. This one was okay. Never took advantage of its supposed ability to re-stick to other surfaces.
  • Razer Vespula. I liked this. This one lasted me for YEARS before I decided to upgrade. I've since cannibalized the rubber pad and use the mouse wrist rest separately.
  • Razer Firefly Cloth Edition. It's good. Although, this one taught me that after using a black cloth mouse mat for years, things get... blech.
  • Razer Pro Glide. This is the one I'm currently using. I like it. Fits in with the rest of my gear, and is subtle enough that I could bring it in to the office.
  • Goliathus Stealth. Bit too flimsy for everyday use. But great for slipping into a laptop case for travel.

I've heard good things about the Goliathus lineup and it's been around for a very long time. But unfortunately, I don't think Razer offers any smooth hard mouse mats like the Invicta at the moment. The Firefly V2 has a micro-textured surface and the Sphex V2 might also have a fine enough texture to be somewhat smooth-ish?

Whatever you choose to replace your Invicta, I'd be curious to hear about it!
