Razer Kitty Kraken disconnecting and popping

I received my Razer Kraken Kitty headset in Christmas 2021, and everything worked perfectly for about a year. Since then, I’ve been having an issue where the headset:

  • Randomly disconnects and reconnects

  • Makes a loud popping sound each time it happens

  • Disappears and reappears in Device Manager (There’s also two of them in Device Manager, and only one disappears)

Here's what I've already tried:

  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled Razer Synapse and Chroma

  • Tried both with and without Synapse installed

  • Deleted drivers and let Windows reinstall them

  • Plugged the headset into every USB port (front and back)

  • Disabled USB power saving on every relevant device (USB Root Hub, Host Controller, Generic USB Hub, etc.)

  • Used Device Manager to “forget” the headset and reconnect it

  • Confirmed there is no visible cable damage

  • Verified it’s not just a port or power issue (other peripherals work fine in the same slots)

I don’t use the mic, and the only headset I have now is a pair of Apple earphones with one working side. I don’t have access to another PC to test the headset, and I really don’t want to have to purchase a powered USB hub just to keep a headset alive.

At this point, I’m extremely frustrated. Nothing seems to work, and I can’t find a proper fix online. Is there any solution?

Any help would be really appreciated. 🙏

Update: I fixed it by setting the Audio Equaliser to 0dB, and then I scrolled down in Synapse, opened Windows Sound Properties, selected the headset, went into Properties > Enhancements and checked Disable All Enhancements.

Hopefully this is helpful to anyone who sees this!

I was having the same issue, started a day or two ago - just found an update in the new Synapse 4 program now Im not having the issue. Fisrt I opened the Razer Synapse app then I unplugged all my Razer products waited ~ a minute then plugged them all back in. After I did that I clicked on my headset (in Razer Synapse app), in top left corner was a download icon hovered over it and it said updates ready.  It shut the app down and when I re opend it I wasnt having the issue - my headset would be 4-5 years old and ive had this issue a few times (sometimes it goes away by its self) but I often find there will some kind of update that will fix the problem :) hope this helps <3
