Razer Kiyo no longer works

Over the last couple of days my webcam has just been blurry. I’ve tried cleaning it, changing the usb slot it was plugged into and updating synpase and nothing worked. I just tried to update the firmware from 1.0.1 to the new one 2.3.2 and the process does not work. It tells me to contact support to perform the update.

Clicking the link provided takes me to the wrong product page, and because I am out of warranty I can no longer contact support. How am I supposed to fix my webcam?

If it’s totally bricked I suppose I’ll just have to buy a new one (and not a razer one).

Same problem here. No solution found at this point. What did you end of doing? This is the second Kiyo I’ve had do the same thing!

Download the previous version of the firmware. Update to that version. And then from there, update to the 2.3.2 version. You can find the driver here: Firmware Razer Kiyo 2.03 R1 (touslesdrivers.com) This worked for me. My webcam is now working, but I can’t use the ring light. If I try to use the light, it causes the device to fritz out and then my PC won’t recognize the webcam at all. I have to unplug the device from the USB and plug it back in so the computer can recognize the camera again. At this point, the webcam is more important than the light so I don’t dare try to turn it on for fear of losing my video feed.

Well, that didn’t last long!!! The device has started making the dreaded feedback noise, which means impending failure. And sure enough… my webcam is no longer being recognized by the computer. So, the update did nothing to fix the problem.

The Kiyo Pro keeps becoming unavailable to Microsoft Teams part way through a session.  If I unplug and replug the USB cable sometimes I get it back; but I also notice that if I open Razer Synapse that the camera is working OK there in preview.

Cameras can become unavailable in one application if another ‘grabs’ it in the driver/operating system which I wonder if that’s what’s happening here.  It never used to do this until the last 6 months… maybe uninstall Synapse (although what do I do with my razer mouse/keyboard settings?)… or maybe give up on Razer products if they’re not reliable for work.
