Razer Kiyo Ringlight - turns on, clicks, dies - every time

My boss gave me a Razer Kiyo to record some training videos. 

I plugged it into two different machines - laptop and 5090 server - on both it shows up - and when started, the ringlight comes on - the camera makes a clicking sound for a second, then the camera disappears from settings, but the light stays on.

 

Approx 15 seconds later - the light goes off and the camera device reappears in settings again. 

 

It was brought to me by hand - not posted or anything.  And I have just tried updating the firmware to 2.32 as suggested elsewhere on this forum - but it made no difference.

 

Is it a write off - of is there something I can do to fix it?

Thank you for sharing your concern here about your Razer Kiyo. Please try using your Razer Kiyo with and without Razer Synapse running to see if the issue persists. Please let me know via PM if the issue persist together with your device’s serial number and proof of purchase for a possible warranty claim. You can upload your proof of purchase to your Google Drive and send me the link. Make sure that the link is set the sharing settings to "Anyone with the link can view". Thank you!
