Razer Kiyo RZ19-0232

It shows it has an update, but I go to update it and it says contact support. When was the last update for this device and how do I update it. It is running version 1.0.1 but it says something about 2.3.2 which almost seems like the actual software not the update software for the camera. I have not used this camera in a long time. I upgraded to the Pro version but wanted to use it as a handcam. Am I just slow or what?

Hi @RizeCaprie.TV,

The recent firmware update version is v2.3.2_r2Try to reinstall its driver and check if it’s detected by the Synapse 3 app for further isolation. If the same problem persists, let me know through PM and provide the serial number so I can check for other model-specific steps to help you address the problem. Thanks!

I don’t know if I am doing something wrong so I am going to PM you because I have never had issues with things like this before. I am pretty tech savvy so I don’t get it.

The bottom picture you may have to open that in a new tab to see the details. It is all the applications and files I have.

What am I doing wrong? I follow all the directions, and have even unplugged the Kiyo Pro just to make sure it was not interfering with the software update. I had no issues updating the Pro yesterday. I have uninstalled the Synapse app and redownloaded it. I have debated on downloading the version from 2017 for the Razer Kiyo to see if it would allow the update, but it is just a hassle.

I figured it out! Apparently since it was stuck on the version from forever ago and I never updated it in 2021 it would not allow me to update it until I updated it to the v2.03_r1 let me tell you that was hard to find. I have officially updated my camera to the v2.3.2_r2 version. Thank you @Razer.Zionzedd  for the help you were trying to give me. I got it by researching more and more and I found the answer.

@Bard09 I sent you a DM. If it doesn’t work let me know.

I am dealing with this same issue for a Kiyo I bought brand new just four days ago. Razer support says it’s already out of warranty. 🙄

@RizeCaprie.TV Could you provide a link to the firmware that let you actually update to the latest version?

Thanks!

@RizeCaprie.TV

I’m dealing with the same issue. Trying to update with zero luck. If you’re able, could you provide me the link to the firmware? No rush!

Tysm :)

I have this problem RizeCaprie.TV where can I find the v2.03_r1 firmware?

I found this is link to v2.03_r1

Firmware Razer Kiyo 2.03 R1 (touslesdrivers.com)

Thanks for the link. The incremental update solved my problem.

Though, honestly, if this is the kind of support Razer offers, I can’t see continuing to support their products. 😣

Has anyone had the issue where they did the incremental updates to 2.3.2 but on launch the camera still just flickers the ring light, the active light above the lens, and makes audible, almost, feedback noise? I thought the drivers would have been the issue but now I am thinking this is hardware? I am on my second Kiyo and the first one had the same issue but thankfully was in warranty. But having this same issue on the second one is not instilling much faith in this product and judging by the support feedback I have seen in several forums now, not much faith in the support team either. Any info or ideas would be much appreciated.

Same issue, same fix worked for me as well. Support apparently doesn’t have this in their agents howto’s...

@IXDISpartan YES!!! I was able to upgrade from 1.0.1 using the older firmware and then upgrade to 2.3.2. Camera is finally working again but as soon as I try to use the ring light… the light is dim and flickers, has the feedback noise and then causes my PC to no longer recognize the web cam any longer. I have to unplug the device from the USB and plug it back it so the computer will recognize the webcam again. Working (without the ring light functioning) for the moment. We’ll see how long that lasts!!! I don’t dare try to use the light for fear I’ll lose my video feed. This is my second Kiyo as well. It has been working great for the past 6 months and then yesterday, it fritzed out on me, just like the first one.

@IXDISpartan  Well, that didn’t last long!!! The device has started making the dreaded feedback noise, which means impending failure. And sure enough… my webcam is no longer being recognized by the computer. So, the update did nothing to fix the problem.

Same here! Upgrade allows me to use the camera but as soon as I turn the light ring it failed again.
Absolutely pathetic support from Razer for this, from the firmware not supporting a direct upgrade from 1.0.1, to not hosting old firmware to allow this stepping up approach, to refusing contact from customers once the product is out of warranty. I paid extra money to buy a decent camera that will last, but this has only lasted 2 years and I only use it once a week! Will never buy another Razer product again

My Razer Kiyo RZ19-0232 has given up after just a year. I did just about everything on the support checklist including reinstalling and using a different USB altogether. It started out by just going out part of the way into a conference call...it would flicker and turn off. Now it tries to turn out, it flickers, and then it turns off and gives up altogether on turning on. Unfortunately the system said my model is out of warranty, but it’s frustrating because it’s only been a year and has had regular use. Is there anything I can do? Maybe a replacement bulb?
