Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma issue

Hi all,



I've been having an issue with my headphones the last 24 hours and need help to fix as I'm stumped.



When using the headphones, all volume over all programs is much louder than it used to be but especially voices. Master volume has little effect and can be set to near mute and it's exceptionally loud still. No settings have been altered, no updates to any programs or Windows and no physical damage to the head phones, which are only 18 months to two years old.



In addition to being loud, on voice chats four times in the last day it's had an ear deafening high pitched screech instead of the voice, lasts about two seconds then goes back to normal. First time it went back to normal, second time it cut out all sound on the game and Discord which were both on at the time although loading up YouTube to test afterwards worked fine, third and fourth times it goes back to "working" but sound volume is stepped up a notch once again.



As voices tend to be worse, as a temporary work around, I had computer sound at normal-ish and turned Discord voice volume right down to near mute, this had no effect at all except from possibly being slightly louder. This suggests to me that the headphone settings are disconnected to other applications somehow. I've since tried to balance sounds in games, in Discord, in the Razer Synapse app and Windows settings with no luck at all.



My mic seems to be unaffected and my voice level is normal on the receivers end, as does the volume on the normal speakers.



I'll throw it in there for good measure but doubt it's related but about three or four hours before the first screech and when problems started, a game crashed and all three monitors cut out for several seconds before coming back on, computer needed a restart to normalise everything once they did. This is the first time that happened.



Despite all that, the computer is in good condition, no viruses and to this point shown no signs of even slightly failing.

Hey greatPastelOrangesite845! Sorry to hear about the headset's concern. I find it odd as it affects your current setup and needs a restart to normalize your computer's behavior. Does the Razer Synapse/Cortex freeze when the game crashes? Have you tried connecting the headset to a different computer? Have you tried closing or disabling Razer Synapse and see if the issue persists? If you haven't please follow the steps below and see if it helps:
