Sort of feel insane posting this as I’ve seen this exact same issue come up time and time again in regard to this product with no solid solutions nor. It also feels insane that a product was allowed to go to market with an issue this widespread that effects basic usage.
i got the razer kraken kitty headset in quartz (usb) as a gift christmas 2021 and at first i was extremely excited! i am someone who gets headaches easily from the pressure and weight of headsets but have never had that issue with razer’s headsets, and it was very cute and fun. it worked well for about a year before i started having disconnection problems and it has only gotten worse over time, now to the point of finding myself on occasion just fully unable to use the product at all.
initially it was the occasional popping or clicking others have described, then it would turn into popping that preceded a full disconnect. at this point i feel lucky when it’s just that instead of crackling audio and full usb malfunctions causing the device to not be recognized.
when the issues started i assumed the warranty wouldve already been up, and i will always do everything i can to fix something or find a work around when i have an issue with something, and i take good care of my belongings. i’ve tried every solution i’ve seen come up and its incredibly disheartening to have found out that not only is a widespread issue, but one that razer doesn’t seem to have taken any serious steps in addressing, as i’ve only watched more people seem to have the issue over time with no good answers on what to do or why it’s happening.
if someone at razer can actually give me a proper fix (and by proper i do NOT mean “try another usb port” or “reinstall synapse/windows/audio drivers/etc”, as believe me, i have done all of these, and none of the other usb devices i use have any issues!) i would love to hear it, as i do legitimately like this headset and as it was a gift from family, i’d love to be to keep using it. but as it stands i really do feel like im going to have to buck up and buy from another brand, as i do not feel i can trust razers quality control in any way at this point.
its a shame because i have used another razer headset before this (the unfortunate victim of a fall that caught the cable on it) and enjoyed it, and currently use a basilisk v2 mouse that i really like as well (i have big hands and finding peripherals i can use comfortably for any long period can be a challenge) and in the past reccomended them to friends and followers online, and now feel like i have to warn people away, as money is tight for everyone and it feels irresponsible to allow others to make a purchase theyll end up having to replace so quickly.
