Razer Kraken Kitty Edition: Continual Disconnects

Started a few days ago, I assumed it was just the game I was playing or my computer but the issue continued to persist. (I just built this computer back in November)

The headset will work just fine and randomly cut out and disconnect from the computer. No sound or light comes from the headset for a few moments and it stutters my computer. Sometimes it disconnects the headset and a notification saying “the USB device recently connected could not be recognized.” Appears.

I've done some tests, sometimes it seems to be sensitive to when I move my head or the cord? I’m not hard at all on this headset and it’s concerning me if something is damaged.

I’ve tried multiple USB ports, uninstalling Synapse, running it with the Spatial setting as default and running it without synapse.

Not sure what else to do! It’s frustrating!

OMG same! i literally have same issue and looking for solution. At this moment it even disconnects my keyboard (which is steelseries) and mouse (logitech) and then freeze my pc. Pc itself ive build last august so i dont believe that i have issue with that. I have no idea what to do. Tried same things, tried to reinstall drivers and do some stuff with usb bus controllers but same issue.

I have the same problem

Same Problem here....also my THX isn´t working anymore. I have the Settings on THX in my Game (wow) and on my Task Bar....nothing, not a Sound comming out. Headphone is losing Connection every 15 Minutes more or less and then the settings are deleted and back to the "Normal" kraken Kitty sound, that just sounds horrible, without any Bass and with a quality that is like a radio

God thanks it's not just me! i just bought this Headset like 3 months ago and have the same issue. I literally tried EVERYTHING to fix it but it didnt help. My mouse and keyboard is also disconnecting and sometimes it reconnects but sometimes i can replug it and change usb ports but NOTHIN happens untill i restart my pc?! this must be a software issue. HELP

Hi everyone! Thanks for initiating this thread. I've reported it to our Support Team and they are investigating the headset's behavior. By the way, are you using an AMD computer with B550 and X570 motherboards? Have tried isolating the issue by limiting your connected USB devices with mouse, keyboard and headset only? Does the same issue happen when it is connected to a different computer? Feel free to send me a PM or submit a case to our Support Team should you need additional assistance.

Hey bytetechTerraCotta734! Please send me a PM together with your headset's serial number and Razer Synapse 3.0 logs. Save the files via Google Drive or to any online drive accounts, then paste the link in your message. Let's continue from there.

following this thread, i have this issue also with my 5 days old kraken kitty edition

I have this same problem and I am almost in tears over it. My Razer Huntsman, Basilisk Mouse, and Base Station have also been affected and unusable from it. The only thing that worked was uninstalling synapse and things became usable again. However, when you uninstall Synapse I cannot figure out how to get the mic to work without Synapse, no audio picks up. Razer please fix this!

Thanks for sharing. Please send me the following so I can forward this to our Support Team and devs:

a. Screenshot of System Information (Hit Windows+R to open the Run box. Type “msinfo32” into the “Open” field, and then hit Enter.)
b. Screenshot of Windows version (Hit Windows + R. Open the Run box with then type winver)
c. Screenshot of Synapse version (Click the gear/cog icon at the top right. For Synapse 3.0, click “About”).
d. Synapse 3.0 logs.

Also experiencing this issue. Haven't found any solutions, but the problem is an on and off thing, and I have noticed a pattern in when it occurs, so I'm assuming that the problem isn't with the headphones, but with the software.

I'm having this issue too and it seems to run hand in hand with the software...this is a brand new headset. I sometimes try to task manage close the software because it really slows down my computer and at first thought that was the issue, but even after restarting my computer and letting everything launch normally it still has the same issue. Super frustrating because I got these for the rgb effect and they aren't even lighting up at all (though right now sound is fine, haven't tested the mic yet)

Thanks for sharing. Does the issue happen when the Razer Synapse 3.0 is closed or disabled? Please submit a case or send me a PM. Let's continue from there.

Same here, I thought it was the headset since it was a few months old (But I've taken super care of it) so I actually bought a second brand-new kitty kraken headset and on the brand new one it did it immediately. So it's not the headset wires, it is the software somehow.

Similar or same troubles here. AMD B450 board, Win10 and a Razer Kitty USB version with Synapse 3.0 running in the notification area.Frequent disconnects. The audio reverts to some other audio devices for a moment, then snaps back to the headset, when it reconnects. Sometimes every 1-2 minutes, sometimes it runs for an hour with no troubles. Sometimes no reconnect and the headset stays dead (no lights, no sound, not showing up as audio device) until a reboot fixes it. If the total breakdown happens i see broken USB devices in the windows device manager.

I tried looking at the USB datastream with Wiresharks USB capture, but saw nothing really unusual.

In addition the razer synapse service process tends to crash with Access Violations on shutdown, probably due to doing some stuff with NULL pointers, after a timeout (Event ID 7011) from the Service Control Manager when trying to stop the Service with a timeout of 30.000ms.

after some digging, came to the conclusion that razer synapse just sucks. and this issue is known to have been persisting since july of last year from what i saw.

the memo: razer just needs to get their act together and fix the software so that it supports the headphones.
