Razer kraken quartz audio quality

Hey So i recently bought a razer kraken quartz headset 7.1 with the plan of both using it on my pc and as headphones when i go out. Now the sound quality sounds like someone is blasting 3 euro earbuds through some drywall. As in low quality audio and a muffled sound both on pc and when connected to my phone. From what i have heard low quality is a consistent issue among most razer headsets so i have pretty much already resigned myself to a hard lesson to never buy anything audio related from razer but i thought i'd hear what people here think.
