What is happening:
- When i test my mic using synapse preview, it works fine
- When i test my mic using synapse sidetone, it works fine
- BUT: anywhere outside of synapse (voice record, audacity, discord, ...) microphone is EXTREMELY quiet.
- When i test the mic on my phone, it works well
What I’ve tried:
- Reinstalling synapse
- Reinstalling drivers (uninstall and restart pc)
- Follow through support page (https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5394/~/how-to-fix-headset-mic-issues-%28too-sensitive%2C-distorted-or-buzzing-sound%2C)
- Try all possible usb ports for the controller
- Played with all possible settings: device manager (the mic doesnt support boost), windows microphone settings (the mic sound is picked up, but it’s quiet)
- Edit: I’ve also tried plugging the usb controller to a different device (a windows 11 laptop) and it worked fine.
I put my windows 10 pc into factory settings, and now the mic is broken. Before the factory reset it was working fine.
