My razer kraken ultimate headphones randomly pop, then disconnect and reconnect. This started recently, and everything has been fine since now. I have tried a different usb port, I have reinstalled synapse, all to no avail. Can someone please help me figure out if I need to get a new pair of headphones?

I have been having the same issue as well, only started after I updated my geforce experience video driver to 466.27, don't know if this is the cause of the issue or not but this only started happening for me yesterday which is when I did the update. I haven't been able to fix this issue and it's causing my audio to go completely out for my games causing me to restart them.
Edit: So I turned off synapse completely and haven't had the issue yet. will edit again if the issue comes up again.
re-Edit: yeah still happening but I'm able to play my game for longer now before it happens

im having this problem too, but with my razer krakens.. the whole headset will disconnect as if i just plugged it out of a usb port when i didnt. its getting super annoying and im on the verge of never getting a razer headset again if this continues lol
My whole razer setup does this! im so confused
yuwen020515 suggested this, it worked for me.
I had the same issue with my Razer Kraken Kitty Edition but it works fine after disabling USB settings. Search "Edit power plan" > Change advanced power settings > USB settings > USB selective suspend setting > On battery: Enabled (switch to disable) > Plugged in: Enabled (switch to disable)

I am so frustrated, I have this same issue and I do not understand why my headset keeps disconnecting, is this the quality of razer products now? disappointing cause I really like my setup but this is just such a nuisance.
same issue here random disconnects on razer kraken headset
also having the same issue, with the same headset. set up is razer kraken ultimate. razer blackwidow elite. razer firefly cloth edition. and a logitech g600 mouse because my razer naga trinity left click started spam clicking. this ain't it chief.
SAME! Razer Kraken Kitty Headphones here. Headphones go pop. mute button is unmuted / muted - then they go dead just for a second - so it swaps audio devices - then they come back, and Synapse doesn't recognise device. When headphones disconnect. There is no 'usb sound' or notification to say a device has been 'unplugged'.
I have been using them since November 2019 (I think?) - NO issues until a few weeks ago.
After this started, I've updated all drivers, checked USB ports and have run all types of scans. The only things I can think of is interrupted power supply to them, processor issues, USB port issues or a problem with Razer software / drivers - and since I've tried 'all the things' (and it seems I'm not the only one affected) - I can only put this down to Razer issues - especially as this isn't happening with another brand or other devices.
Also, I tried the Powerplan USB enable / disable suggested above- and if anything it made the muting / unmuting worse!
FYI my headphones are supposed to be 'permanently' muted as I use a USB Blue Yeti for Input. So that's some additional 'weirdness'.
I hope Razer can fix this! Again, I've had the headphones for well over a year with no issues..
To my recollection.. I'm sure there was (another) Razer update a few weeks ago.. coincidence??
Happy to be corrected on any of this.. just stating facts as I know them!

Update: I just found a 'Razer Cortex Power Plan' in
[Control Panel| [Power Supply] [hidden settings]
No idea how long it's been there.. as it was hidden until I added a new plan.
So I've selected it
- my headphones went dead. not coming up in synapse.
- I hit boost in Cortex (as per plan instructions) - and had a bunch of things give me errors
- I unplug then replug my headphones - lights are on - no ones home, cannot find in synapse
- Exit synapse - exit cortex - boost turns off
- Launch synapse (allow to make changes to this device)
- Launch synapse two more times, as it didn't actually do anything
- Synapse finds device - almost immediately
- check my synapse settings.. turn Mic off AGAIN
- reselect chroma effect profile
- Cortex is NOT running.
- created a new Power Plan on HIgh performance
2 hours later.. so far so good.. NO CLICKING and no disconnect! I Will update if this changes!

razer cortex shouldn't be even needed for running the devices if i'm not mistaken that one is meant for entirely different reasons
any new news about this abnoxious problem????
I noticed that this problem started after I enabled fast boot in my BIOS, ever since turning it off again I haven't had it and it's been a while
Update: Happened again, although much less frequently

Yup.. it's back.. and now headphones are unusable. This happened after another update to synapse.. and here I am doing yet ANOTHER update to synapse today.. how many updates per month is this now?
I've bought the Kraken Ultimate about a year ago,
The sound is amazing, how ever, THX Spatial Audio has never really been reliable since the day I bought this headset. Unfortunately it needs Synapse 3 to function. I can see in my sound settings THX Spatial is selected as default every where but I'm still getting the notification in Synapse 3 that it needs to be set as default.. Plus the small switch on the back has stopped lighting up a few months ago and randomly doesn't work any more (only works when restarting the computer x amount of times, but the light won't light up..)
But about 2 months ago I was getting more problems, like fully disconnecting my headset while being in game. Or disconnect, reconnect, but the mic is not transmitting in discord and in the game, I checked the settings it's all set to Razer Kraken Ultimate, the only way to even get the mic starting again or the headset is either shutting down the game (Does it to all my games) and or fully shutting down my PC..
Trouble shooting doesn't matter cause it says for the mic that there is no problem, but it's not receiving anything what I'm saying (yes my mic is set to Default). Sound out put it tells me that it's using a generic audio driver.
I literally have tried everything that I was able to find, uninstalling synapse 3, changing the custom power, everything you can think of I have done..
It's come this far already that I'm not even enjoying gaming and have now started looking for a new headset and probably will never go with razer again for the audio.
Over all, the product and sound is really amazing, but that damned Synapse 3 programming is the worse I've ever encountered and paying this much for a headset that requires Synapse 3 to even function is not even worth the price of 150 euro, maybe 45 euro or even less.
I really hope Razer will fix this problem cause more and more people are having problems with their headsets and paying this much for a headset that doesn't even work properly isn't even worth it.

Thanks for the feedback. I felt sorry after hearing that the headset and Razer Synapse are affecting your gaming experience. Try retrieving your legacy driver for THX Spatial Audio through the Windows device manager by following the step from this thread. Also, the Razer Kraken Ultimate's disconnection from your USB port is something else. Feel free to send me a PM or submit a case to our Support Team should you need additional assistance. I'll be locking this thread to curb our conversation privately.
