I’ve had this problem for weeks now. My mic sounds completely fine within the synapse app, but isn’t being picked up anywhere else. I’ve reinstalled all Razer apps multiple times and even did a fresh install of Windows to no avail. I want to note that I tried my headset on my partner’s computer, and it worked fine; additionally, I tried her own Razer Kraken Kitty Edition on my PC and it worked fine.

I tried to submit a support ticket, but they would not let me since the warranty expired on my device - yippee...

Thanks for sharing your concern here. Let me further assist you with your Razer Kraken Ultimate microphone issue.  To isolate the problem, please try to follow the steps below on how to properly set your device as a default recording device.

  1. Open Sound Settings by pressing the Windows button on your keyboard, type “Sound” and press enter.
  2. Look for Sound Control Panel.
  3. Go to “Recording” tab, right click on the computers sound device and check both Default Device and
  4. Default Communication Device.
  5. Make sure the device is set to default on the Razer headset.
