Razer Kraken X USB beeping

I have owned my Razer Kraken X USB headset for 5 years now and they still work great, but they have started to randomly beep. The beeping lasts a couple seconds at regular intervals and it's seemingly not prompted by anything, since it happened in various different conditions (once while gaming, and twice while watching a movie doing work in the background)

It's not particularly disrupting but still weird and I can't find any answer or hints anywhere online as to why this is happening. I haven't updated any drivers, I haven't updated Windows, the USB port I plug it in has been the same since forever. The only thing changing is some deteriorating of the cable right up to the connection with the headset, but I try to keep it as still as possible and protect it with electrical tape, and the sound quality has not decreased whatsoever, so I find it hard to believe that the two things are connected.
