Razer Lancehead Scroll Wheel Shenanigans?

I've had this issue with my Razer Lancehead Scroll Wheel for ages where it would jump up and down during scrolling, then miraculously found a thread on reddit stating that it's due to the use of the cable and switched to wireless.

And now the scrolling issue doesn't persist anymore? Why is it that whenever we use the (crappy, outdated micro-usb) cable, scrolling becomes a hazzard and switching to wireless makes it all work perfectly fine?

I mean, I don't mind having to recharge my mouse every single time but it's going to be a nuisance otherwise. Perhaps some firmware update to fix this, even though the mouse is no longer supported.
