Razer Leviathan V2 Pro bricked upon arrival

I’ve tried pretty hard to find a preowned (only opened, unused) Leviathan V2 Pro.

The soundbar works like a charm upon plugging in. Ran a few sound tests, then installed Synapse 4. Synapse told me to restart the PC. I did that and the soundbar refuses to be turned on after that.

I tried unplugging the soundbar and keeping it unpowered for several minutes, then plugged in again. It worked for a few seconds, then went dark again.

After that, even the depowering trick isn’t working anymore. It just sits there. No response when I press or hold the power button.

I’ve tested out the power supply unit with a multimeter and got a 18V+ reading, meaning the power brick is working fine. There has to be something wrong with the soundbar itself.

Copilot says it may be the result of corrupted firmware, which should require Razer’s re-flashing tool. I tried starting a service ticket, but the website says Razer doesn’t cover this product anymore.

Any idea where I can get support for that? I know it’s very likely out of warranty. Don’t mind paying for repair out of pocket, but at least there’s got to be a place where I can ask for help?

Saw other people here running into the same problem as I did. There doesn’t seem to be any follow up.

More tests done. Results.

(We’re only talking about the soundbar here. The subwoofer is working fine.)

  1. The soundbar can’t be switched on. Tapping or holding the power button does nothing.
  2. Leaving it depowered overnight, though, the next morning when I plug its power in, it turns on again.
  3. That is, until I plug in the USB cable. Once it’s connected to the PC, it dies within a minute.
  4. Must leave it depowered to discharge and try again.
  5. Multimeter readings on the power supply unit is consistently fine. 18V+ at the barrel connector. Steadily 17.5V+ when I add a 10 ohm load to it for testing purpose.

That pretty much rules out hardware problems. Anyone at Razer kind enough to give me a copy of the firmware recovery tool for Leviathan V2 Pro?
