Razer mice dropout on button hold | Razer Insider

I’m experiencing this problem on multiple machines, multiple Razer mice, multiple games, but only Razer mice.

When firing a weapon, you click and hold the mouse button.  Sometimes the game will fire a round or two, then stop, then sputter, and sometimes it’ll start firing fine but then cut out in the middle of a bullet stream.

When click-holding to drag a window, sometimes it doesn’t grab the window, sometimes it lets go of the window while dragging, and sometimes it maximizes the window as if I’ve double-clicked the window bar to maximize it.

  • I’ve had this happen on a Windows 10 Desktop and a Windows 11 laptop
  • I’ve had this happen on a wired Basilisk mouse and a wireless Ouroboros mouse.
  • I’ve tried making sure the mouse isn’t plugged into a hub.
  • I’ve tried other USB ports including 2.0, 3.0, 3.1
  • I’ve done a clean uninstall/reboot/reinstall
  • I’ve tried resetting the mouse (press/hold Profile button for 10 seconds or press/hold left/middle/right click for 7+ seconds)
  • I’ve made sure the firmware is up to date
  • I’ve made sure the mice are clean, including buttons
  • I made sure all USB devices in Device Manager do NOT say “allow Windows to turn off this device to save power”

I could use some suggestions.  This seems to be related to the way the Razer mouse interacts with the OS, like there’s an instruction bottleneck or something.
