Razer Mouse Issues and Confusion | Razer Insider

Hi.

I have a Razer Mamba TE mouse.

[I also have a Razer Huntsman Elite Keyboard and a Razer Firefly V2 Mouse Mat.]

I just started an awesome new job in April. But that's where the mouse issues come in.

But before I started this new job, at my previous job I had a Dell laptop and Hub/docking station. I had my Mamba TE mouse, Huntsman Elite Keyboard, and two Razer Firefly V2 Mouse Mats connected to it. [I also had 3 monitors connected to it.]

Everything worked great, never had any issues.

But now, with this new job, I also have a dell laptop. [but no hub.]

And sometimes once a day, sometimes multiple times a day, and occasionally only once or twice a week my mouse will have issues.

By issues I mean that sometimes it will just stop responding at all and not do anything. That usually lasts for 15 seconds to a minute. Then the cursor will move again, but any clicking doesn't do anything. [or rarely some random things will work if clicked on, but most do not.]

But basically, it makes it so my computer is unusable.

I have to restart the computer, and that usually alleviates the issue, for the time being. [though, sometimes it takes multiple restarts.]

I have tried every port on my computer, and that doesn't make a difference.

At first I thought it might have been something with my computer because the laptop has a touchscreen and I would get the same unresponsiveness from trying to use the touchscreen. [same goes with the touchpad mouse]

But that only lasted for a couple of weeks.

Now, the touchscreen works when the Razer mouse does not. So that switches my thinking back to it being a mouse issue.

Another thing that can happen is that after the freezing and unresponsiveness, it can start working again, but in a very limited capacity. By that I mean the normal speed I have the cursor moving at becomes greatly diminished, and 4 of my 6 programmed mouse buttons stop working. I have one set to copy, another to paste, one to skip music tracks, one to pause/play music, and then one to lower the volume and one to raise the volume. When this limited capacity thing happens, only the volume up and volume down buttons still work and do what they're supposed to.

I have tried numerous things, but I have no idea why this is happening, or how to fix it.

Can anyone help?

Thank you very much,
I just wanted to add an update.

I am pretty sure the issue lies with the Razer Synapse software. But beyond that, I'm at a loss.

My wife just got me a new mouse for my birthday because I mentioned the trouble I was having with the Mamba TE mouse.

She got me a Basilisk Ultimate mouse.

I connected it today, and disconnected the Mamba TE.

Sadly, the issue still persists. Even with the new mouse.

It will sort of freeze, and while the cursor will still move, I won't be able to click on anything. If I press control alt delete and select task manager, that fixes it temporarily, but it can happen again any time.

Also, if I end task for Razer Synapse in task manager, then the mouse works correctly again. Albeit with out any of the Synapse or Chroma features.

That's why I'm convinced the issue lies with the Razer Synapse Software.

But, like I said, I don't know what to do about it.

Any suggestions?

Does the behavior persist with your Razer Mamba Tournament Edition when the Razer Synapse is closed or disabled? Let's isolate the problem first by repairing the app. Please click this link and let me know if it helps.

Hi,

If I disable/close Razer Synapse in task manager, then the mouse/mice and keyboard stop having the issues.

I tried running the repair software on Razer Synapse, but that did not help. The issues still persist.

Thank you for looking into this with me.
I don't know if this will help you or not, but I recorded some video of my devices when they start having the issues.

The first one you can see all three devices, but I later zoom in on the keyboard only because it is easier to see the visual changes when they start acting weird.

When the Mamba Tournament Edition mouse and the Razer Basilisk Ultimate mouse have the big issue, the colors change like you see on the keyboard and then the cursor moves, but doesn't click on anything.

The other issue that has started [this being kind of like mini strokes or petite mal seizures, and the mouse not clicking being like a large stroke or a grand mal seizure] is that all the devices' lights will go wonky, then back to normal, but then the keyboard will either not respond to anything that is typed, or it will get stuck on a key and take a minute or three to stop, and then go back to normal. That can happen numerous times throughout the day.

The second video shows that happening.
