Mouse Dock Pro Shutdown Disconnect Issue (2+ Years Unresolved)

Hi Razer Community,

I’m experiencing the same persistent issue with my recently purchased Razer Mouse Dock Pro and Basilisk V3 Pro 35K Wireless Gaming Mouse. After a complete shutdown, the dock and mouse don’t connect at restart, requiring a USB unplug/reconnect (takes ~25 seconds for Synapse to load). This has been ongoing for over two years per past posts, with no fix.

Details:

  • Devices: Mouse Dock Pro, Basilisk V3 Pro (latest firmware)

  • System: MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI, Windows 11 Pro 24H2

  • Troubleshooting: Direct USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, disabled XHCI Pre-Boot Mode, enabled USB Standby Power, multiple Synapse resets, tested hubs/passthrough—no success.

  • Workaround: Using the 2.4GHz dongle, dock charges fine.

Razer, can we get an official update or firmware fix? This seems like a design flaw. Thanks, I guess!

Hi Razer Community,

Following my earlier post, I’ve found a working solution for the Mouse Dock Pro shutdown disconnect issue. After three years of reports, here’s what worked for me:

  • System: MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Intel i7-14700K.

  • Fix: Connected the Mouse Dock Pro to a PCI-E USB 3.0 7-Port Expansion Card (2x USB-C, 5x Type-A). After five complete shutdowns, the dock and Basilisk V3 Pro connect immediately at the logon screen, no reconnect needed.

  • Trade-Off: No charging when shut down (minor inconvenience).

  • BIOS Tweaks: Enabled USB Standby Power (S4/S5), disabled XHCI Pre-Boot Mode, set Restore after AC Power Loss to [Last State]—helped partially, but the card was key.

This bypasses the motherboard’s USB limitation. Razer, any chance for a firmware fix? Thanks to all for the input!

I wish I can do this workaround. My PC is a compact build and don’t have room for a PCI express USB card. I don’t think Razer will look into this as it only effects MSI boards.

Hi Razer Community,

I’ve been reading through past posts on the Mouse Dock Pro shutdown disconnect issue, amazed at the creative fixes tried. Initially, I thought it might be MSI-specific, but community reports suggest it affects various brands. I’m thrilled to have a solution for my MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI (Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Intel i7-14700K), yet it’s troubling for those still struggling.

  • Fix: Connecting the Mouse Dock Pro to a PCI-E USB 3.0 7-Port Expansion Card (2x USB-C, 5x Type-A) worked after six shutdowns, with immediate connection at logon. Trade-off: no charging when off.

  • BIOS Tweaks: Enabled USB Standby Power (S4/S5), disabled XHCI Pre-Boot Mode, set Restore after AC Power Loss to [Last State]—partially helpful.

  • Synapse Optimization: Used Startup Delayer to cut Synapse load to 10 seconds by delaying other startup apps.

Community reports indicate this isn’t just an MSI issue—users with ASRock (e.g., Z790), Gigabyte, and even laptops have faced similar unplug/replug needs. Discussions on forums and Reddit also mention random disconnects with other Razer devices across brands, pointing to a possible dock firmware or USB implementation flaw. For compact builds without PCI-E, have you tried powered USB hubs or USB-C docks? I’d love to hear your experiences. Razer, a firmware fix for this three-year problem would benefit all. Thanks for the shared knowledge!

If feasible, please attempt to replicate this behavior on a different PC. Also, check if you have the latest Synapse 4 version, 4.0.86.2508050339, and the corresponding Chroma version, 4.0.63.2508050337. Please send me a PM so I can initiate an investigation, including the following:
