Hello Razer Support,
I'm experiencing an identical middle-click (scroll-wheel click) issue with two separate Razer Naga Hex V2 mice (Model RZ01-0160).
Both mice function normally in every other respect, including scrolling, left/right clicking, and programmable buttons. However, physically pressing the scroll wheel does not register as Mouse Button 3 / Middle Click / Scroll Click in Windows, Google Chrome, or World of Warcraft.
Both mice have normal physical and audible clicking feedback when the scroll wheel is pressed.
Troubleshooting already performed:
-
Tested both Razer mice in Chrome, World of Warcraft, and an online mouse-button tester. Neither registers middle clicks.
-
Tested a generic wireless mouse on the same PC. Its middle click works correctly in Chrome and can be assigned as a keybind in World of Warcraft.
-
Tested one of the Razer mice on a completely different PC that has never had Razer Synapse installed. Middle click still did not work.
-
In Razer Synapse, tested both Default Function → Scroll Click and Mouse Function → Scroll Click, without success.
-
Assigned the physical scroll-wheel click to the keyboard letter P under the Standard profile. Pressing the wheel did not produce P in Notepad.
-
Assigned another programmable button to P. This worked correctly, confirming that Synapse can successfully remap other buttons.
-
Completely exited Synapse and retested, without success.
-
Uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse through Windows Device Manager, restarted Windows, and restarted Razer services, without success.
My concern:
Because two identical mice exhibit the same issue, I suspect there may be a Razer-specific software, firmware, or button-mapping problem rather than two simultaneous hardware failures.
I also noticed that Synapse identifies the middle mouse button as Scroll Click, rather than Mouse Button 3. I would appreciate confirmation that this mapping is functioning correctly for the Naga Hex V2.
Could you please confirm:
-
Whether this is a known issue affecting the Naga Hex V2 or recent Synapse versions.
-
Whether firmware updates or a factory-reset procedure are available specifically for model RZ01-0160.
-
Whether the Naga Hex V2 retains onboard button configurations that could affect its behavior on another computer.
-
Whether there is a recommended diagnostic tool or procedure to determine if the physical middle-click switch is registering at the hardware level.
I would appreciate a technical troubleshooting solution rather than repeating the standard driver reinstall and Synapse configuration steps, which I've already completed.
Thank you for your assistance.
