As the title mentions, on scrolling up and down, every so often the mouse wheel will continue to scroll in the direction I was scrolling in regardless of the mouse tension “feel” settings. This is maddening when playing a game or when browsing a website.
I have tried cleaning it with compressed air, and used some tweezers to remove some visible pieces of debris along or near the axle of the wheel without disassembling it and am still having issues.
All things fail eventually, but I’m a bit disappointing that the mouse has a failing scrollwheel just over 2 years in, and out of warranty. I spent a bit more money on this mouse thinking that the optical switches would provide a bit more longevity. Feels like planned obsolesence, though might just be bad luck on my end. Rant over.
Since I’m out of warranty (purchased Nov 2022), I’d like to know what my options are, as well as any guidance, before deciding to trash the mouse and purchase a replacement.
