Razer Nari Ultimate - A truly amazing product, with many issues. | Razer Insider

Good day -

I'm writing this post out of complete and utter exacerbation. I purchase my Razer Nari Ultimate's on Amazon (ref: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HZ6YWNB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for roughly $211 at the time.

For the record - I'm an avid Razer fan. I've purchased many Razer headsets before which also had issues. A perfect example would be my multiples of the Kraken series which has a horrendous audio bleed issue with the microphone. When I was in the market for a new headset last year (June 2020), I really wanted to make the switch to a pair of wireless headsets. Razi Nari Ultimates with 7.1 surround sound were rated fairly high with other wireless headset contenders.

First, I want to do a brief overview of the issues I've been facing:

  • When wanting to perform a firmware update for my Razer Nari Ultimate's the updater does not detect that my dongle nor USB wire have the headset plugged in to perform an update. (ref: Razer Nari Firmware Updater | RZ04-02680)

  • Headset audio will bleed in and out as if it's switching channels, loss of power, or something similiar. It will randomly switch between high quality audio and under-powered cans - extremely frustrating and has happened since I purchased the device.

  • Headset charge seemingly doesn't last - at all. I can just take the headphones off the charger and within minutes I get a low battery beep - VERY FRUSTRATING. I almost exclusive have to use my headphones connected via the micro USB to a power source otherwise they'll die, or beep every other minute.

  • New issue: The game & chat audio channels are seemingly unbalanced after a fresh Windows install w/ Cortex & Synapse installed. - Game audio is very under powered when set to the default audio device (with chat set to the default communication device) - however, if I set Chat to the default audio device (and communication device) the audio experience is much more pleasant.

  • The wireless range is less than pleasant - but not something I'm going to harpe on too much in this post, because if that was my only issue, I'd be extremely happy.

  • Razer Synapse, is basically a horrible product. Very frequent updates that makes my PC almost completely unusable when being performed. (Cuts audio in and out for minutes at a time)

I try to avoid complaining too much about a product - and I kept thinking that potentially my product was fault - but I'm seeing so many other users posting about these issues as well. I just apparently am facing a huge amount compared to other users.

Here is a perfect example of the sound issue I'm facing:

Out of frustration on August 19th 2020 I reached out to Razer Support via Reddit - hoping to get some sort of response and assistance. (reference thread: Razer Nari Ultimate Charging Issues : razer (reddit.com)). I got no response. Which is frustrating considering the tag line from Razer is "reach out" for all of these issues.

I'm not hating on Razer - and to be honest I am a Razer Fan Boy in many ways. I love my Krakens for their audio profile - they were exactly what I was looking for. I also am a big fan of
