So randomly I started getting a sort of...static type sound that will begin when any audio is played and it will overwrite all audio and continue making the sound. I uninstalled the headset and reinstalled it, fixing the issue..until recently. I updated synapse and it happened again. Anyone have this happen to them?

Have you tried to connect the headset to a different device to isolate the issue?

Hi there,
I have the same issue with my Razer Kraken TE since the last but one Synapse update (01/10/19). It's definitely not caused by hardware. I tried to connect it to my mobile phone by jack 3,5 mm and everything sounded like normal. But when I connected the headset to PC through USB, it started doing the same wierd sound as on the video, he sent. It really iritates me. Could someone from Razer finally help, please? I'm hopeless. I perhaps tried all. When I uninstalled Synapse, everything was normal, but when I installed it again, it started to do the wierd sound.
Sincerely
Jan Barton
I too am having this problem. I called last week and was hoping to get a fix, but no luck so far. I am now reaching out to the community for help.
Approx Synapse time of Jan. 17th a new update came out ( V1.0.97.127 ) which has rendered my Nari headset and I get audio static or audio can NOT render from youtube. My times uninstalling, reinstalling, updating BIOS drives, no help. Had to go back to Dec. 1st install ( V1.0.87.116 ) of synapse and no cortex. Works but barely. No surround, not game sound only chat. This is on a Win 10 pro. I have no logs because I use Revo Pro and complete wipe out ALL files. The update on Jan. 17th was a bad update and needs fixing now. Support at the time last week had no clue. I received an RMA on my headset, but I went out and purchase another Nari and tested. Same thing. WHY RAZER!!?? WHY ??!! . I have spent hours of glitch support for you razer.

I have the same sound problem. It's happening when i use Nari-Game as an output device.
When I uninstall Synapse 3 it works fine again but without the features of synapse.
I installed the headset to another PC and works well with synapse 3.
So its not a hardware issue, there must be a software conflict or something.
I tried uninstalling and reinstaling all Nari drivers + Synapse 3 but problem persists.
Please support do something about it, the headset is unusable at the moment.

Here is the sample of the sound. Razer Support please make sure the fix is a fix, since the update was NOT an update but a disaster!! A lot of time spent on this issue to find out that I could do nothing to fix it and call tech support, yes called and could not speak to anyone in a department that would take this as an urgent fix. I spent good money for this and all the option for my relaxing and now I can not enjoy my time.

I am also having this issue... anyone come up with a fix yet?
Hi all,
I have the same sound issue with my Nari Ultimate on Windows 10 and wanted to add some additional symptoms that may (or may not) help. The error, for me, is repeatable and isolated to Razer Synapse with the update. It started on Thursday 2/7 at some point in the middle of the day (i.e., the headphones worked in the morning and without making any changes to my PC or restarting), the headphones started making static in the afternoon.
USB to PS4: No problems;
USB to PC without Razer Synapse installed: No problems, but unable, obviously, to modify headphone settings;
USB to PC with a new install of Razer Synapse but not updated: No problems, but unable to modify headphone settings;
USB to PC with updated Razer Synapse: clicking and static when default audio format, under "Headphone Properties">"Default Format", is set to 2 channel. However, the static goes away when set to 1 channel, at any quality level. When set to 2 channel, static at every quality level.
The question is why it didn't have a problem when I installed the update when I originally purchased the headphones. Did Razer push through a new update to Synapse? I made no changes to my PC between the headphones working to not working.
The number of users with the identical problem and the fact that for most users the problem goes away when not using Synapse indicates that the solution to the problem will require an update from Razer.

Got it on my Nari Ultimate.
Tried a bit of everything in every order (clean desinsitall, reboot, reinstall, reboot, removal of drivers etc etcetc) without success.
Best workaround : be lucky to find a computer where it works (or set it up as you whish it while it crackles) then cleanly remove/uninstall everythin synapse related.
Then unplug your headset.
Then reinstal Synapse. Turn off autoupdates for synapse.
Then plug your headset but when prompted to update dont.
Your headset should work as set up before but not show up in Synapse, hence not crackle.

I had installed version 100.133 of Synapse and there's a new update today to 102.135. It did not fix the problem.
In fact, I installed the new Synapse and played a song on Spotify. All good.
Under "My Apps" it said there was an update, which is what it said in the last version. While the song was playing on Spotify, I clicked on the update. The installer processed the update, but about halfway through, the static came back.

My Nari was working properly on my desktop PC since I bought it and for about 2 weeks since this sound issue arised.
I installed my Nari to my Laptop and it works fine there with all latest Synapse updates.
3.4.115 and 3.4.215.
I made a comparison of the device Events by going to Device Manager then Sound, video and game controllers.
I noticed that on my desktop PC where my Nari has the sound issue I have a "Device not migrated" event while on my Laptop I have a "Device migrated" event.
Can you guys check your computers to see if you also have a "Device not migrated" event.

@G
Where do you check your events ? I also realised when showing disconeted stuff that I had multiple iterations of my Nari in the devices removed them all reinstalled fresh, nothing. Also updated drivers after uninstalling them and fresh repair no workaround.
Best workaround so far is uninstall Synapse from problematic PC. Setup Nari on working laptop. Leave Nari unplugged from problematic PC. Install synapse, update synapse. Turn off synapse autoupdate. Plug Nari, dont update synapse.
I will post back when home and can check the events you're talking about.

I just plugged in my headphone USB and turned them on. I have not updated Synapse, but it is installed, and audio is working. This is what the "Events" tab says after I plugged the USB dongle (top line is Events, text is from "Information" box):

Ok, fun stuff. I have a new best workaround. With a bit of dumb luck and some steps from razer support
YOu can try 1 - 2 - 3 and see if it does the trick for you. For me it did not but doing 1 - 2 - 3 - 2 actually allows me to have a working peripheral and being able to see it in Synapse.
1 - Reinstalling Audio drivers
- Press Windows + r, type in msinfo and press enter.
- Check the model of your motherboard and visit the manufacturers website.
- Download the audio drivers based on the model of your motherboard.
- Open Control Panel and under Programs, click on Uninstall.
- Look for the audio driver on the list of programs installed.
- Right click on the application and uninstall it. Restart the computer.
- Install the newly downloaded audio driver.
2 - Removing device drivers.
- Unplug your Razer device and open Device Manager. (Press Windows + r and type in devmgmt.msc)
- On the upper left of Device Manager, click on View and select Show Hidden Devices.
- Expand all driver categories by clicking on the > symbol.
- Look for all the drivers of your Razer device, uninstall all those drivers and make sure that you also select the option to delete the driver installer. (This is the tricky part. I didn't always have this option but at some point i had it on Device manage -> SOund video and game controller, Razer Nari Ultimate - Game)
- Once all drivers are removed, restart the computer.
- Plugin your Razer device again and check for updates on Windows.
3 - Repair Synapse 3
- Open the Control Panel and under Programs, click on Uninstall.
- Look for Razer Synapse on the list of applications installed.
- Right click on Synapse and select uninstall.
- A new Window for Synapse 3 should pop up, select repair.
- Wait for the update to complete and restart the computer.

Nice! This worked for me.
I would add that for me, after the last step for 3, I had to close and restart Synapse a couple times for the headset to function in Synapse. When I started Synapse after the last step, the image of the headset in Synapse was grayed out with the spinning "processing" symbol. After closing Synapse and just starting the program again, it gave me a warning that the program was making changes to the system, and once fully back, the Nari appeared normally in Synapse.
