Razer Nommo Sound Issues

I just purchased what I assumed were new Nommo Speakers from Amazon. Upon setting them up the sound quality sounds awful. Its almost like I am in a tunnel or a box. Its almost as if there is not any mid range coming from the speakrs. I am not sure how to proceed to troubleshoot or if I need to just return them. Compared to some 15 year old logitech speakers I have moved from rig to rig these just don't seem to be of the standard I come to expect from Razer. All my other razer equipment keyboard/mouse/headset this has been a bad experience. Is anyone else having this issue? Did I get broken second hand speakers from Amazon? Again everything just sounds sort of muffled like you are in a tunnel and music just is missing something with these speakers.
